  1. Any idea why Napules isnt wrestling? is he hurt?
  2. I'm going with Hawkins. I think Hawkin's loss to bradley earlier in the season is due to his tendency to occasionally be lazy, stall and just win by a few points. When you wrestle with that style it lets people you are better than hang around in a match and gives them an opportunity to win. All this talk on the board is gonna light a fire under hawkins and i predict he wins this one in a controlling if not dominate fashion. His matchup with Gregory is the one im really looking forward too. 119 is a nasty place to be come MVille Semi State. Oh and Portage does have classes, but im sure you can still get internet on your phone. Technology these days and all.
  3. I think i agree with you. And i won that round three times too. Still think about the match i lost that round more than any of the rest though. Freshmen year was rough.
  4. Possibly. I'll have to think on that one. I just always remember getting so amped up for that ticket round match. you know for a week in advance who it is gonna be and by the time it comes around you are so excited you just wrestle like you are on fire. I'm sure a couple other guys that have wrestled that round might agree with me. Either way we need to have wrestlebacks. Its the right way for it to be. So in the grand scheme of things i suppose it doesn't really matter.
  5. Oh Dear Lord. Safe return to the mat? Okay, how about we just say control your opponent to the mat. Don't try to hurt him, but definitely put him down hard. You don't want him to just hit another standup right away do you? Lets get tougher Indiana. Also: Maybe we need to start writing the rule book in Da Region. -Nope, never mind, everyone needs to be able to read it. Not just DA Rat.
  6. Don't get me wrong here. Wrestlebacks are the answer. They will make the tournament series better. However, The round to go at regionals and the Ticket round at semi state is some of the most exciting and inspired wrestling you will see. Knowing that if you lose your season is over is quite the motivator. So if there were those wrestlebacks those big win or go home matches would not occur and the exciting atmosphere would be lessened. It would still be exciting only less so.
  7. Awood2: Thanks. Coach Vlaho, and Coach Irwin help too. Y2: Because he is just that good. ;D
  8. Yeah, I was skeptical too. According to the Wabash College coaches it is true. I guess we'll see in a few years right?
  9. Y2 you got me. According to the rule book my position on this topic, my person beliefs, and ethics are illegal; However, i still think the coach's decision was not unethical and would prefer if that particular rule would be removed from the rule book. But for the time being you win. Feels good huh? haha Wrestlebacks: That would solve everything and simultaneously make regionals and semi state much less exciting.
  10. I would rather my wrestling coach worry about the wrestling aspect of things. My father is there to teach me what is right or wrong and ethically okay. whether you currently think he did a good job or not is of little matter. I want my wrestling coach to worry wrestling not being a good role model.
  11. Thanks Rankings Guy. I like winning too. And also from Da Region. Quick warning though, your cool points are about to take a serious hit. Mine just did. Ha.
  12. Whether you think its unethical or not nothing illegal was done so i'd be surprised if he was suspended. A stern talking to at the most.
  13. I like the confidence. Thats a good thing. But don't talk about yourself on the board. Just go out there and prove it. Let it drive you to work harder at practice. talking about yourself on the board isn't cool though man.
  14. I don't understand how you can say those two things aren't related. I just think if we are going to play completely fair and ethical we shouldn't move and bump guys around. Have everyone wrestle their normal weights and let the cards fall where they will. Moving your guys is lying. You are saying that they weigh something different than they actually do. Thats lying. It is just commonly accepted as good coaching because it has been done so much. i say you need to choose sides, either be willing to do whatever you have to do to give your wrestlers the advantage or be Completely ethical. Also: Unwritten rules are not rules. That simple.
  15. Pretty Sure i know which coach this is, and i would just like to give him a heck yeah. Do whatever it takes to win. I do not care what it is just do it. I wish i would have wrestled for a coach that was this passionate about winning, and advancing his kids. Is moving your stud wrestlers around in your lineup to match up with a team better considered cheating? No it is not. This is no different. He did not directly break any rules so he did nothing wrong, and in the end put his wrestler in a better position to win and achieve more. Sounds like fantastic coaching to me. Good Job bringing it to the next level Coach.
  16. Sometimes being the most devoted, hardworking guy in the state isn't enough. Executing at the right time is important too. Being a gamer. Darren Elkins was the hardest working individual i had ever seen in my life and he was only a one time champ.
  17. The willingness to give up every second of your free time all year around, or God given talent. But more commonly a mixture of them both.
  18. Its a shame one of these guys wont be making it to semi-state. Both great wrestlers that put in a lot of offseason work. You know both will be prepared and I think it will come down to simply who executes best on that day.
  19. I wasn't really looking that far back Y2. I only meant that recently as in the past few years since Harper has been aboard that i have noticed a significant improvement in the team. More so in just watching the way in which their guys wrestle. Every kid seems to have that "go getter" mentality. Not gonna see a lot of stalling out of those guys. Just fun to watch. I could be wrong though. I only see Penn at Al Smith and Semi state. Anyone else agree with me?
  20. I would say Penn has to be in this list too. A couple of years ago they weren't all that good, and now they have become a powerhouse. I would attribute the change to new coaching. Coach Harper has done great work over there. I look to see them continuing to improve as a program in years to come.
  21. Can't go all on who is ranked higher. I'm excited to see how a few of these ones goes. But Mainly: Hawkins VS Bradley Acuna VS Schurg Brady VS Flamme Roach VS Torres King VS Kral
