  1. There was a wrestle off prior to seeding meeting. And a few times through the season. This is the same process we have used for years. Tony Currie
  2. Pool A: AC, Norwell, Southwood, Bishop Dwenger Pool B: Western, Bluffton, Churubusco, FW Carroll (B team)
  3. Adams Central has 2 wildcard spots open for the ISWA state duals on 1/10/16. We need to fill 40, 45, 50, 175. Please contact me if interested. Thanks Tony Currie currie5fam@gmail.com

  5. Adams Central 4 We have talked about adding 2 more, but have not been able to secure the additional duals into the schedule. We want quality duals but as Joe has stated, we are limited by travel distance.
  6. Just a thought. Has it been discussed to rotate the tryouts? One year central Indiana, one year an hour or so north of Indy, one year an hour or so south. It does not have to be at the extreme end of the state. A few years back, folkstyle state was held at Huntington North. I believe Bloomington also hosted a few state events, Please correct me if I am wrong. Maybe the ISWA can set a rotation for some of their meetings as well. This may bring together the divide that seems to be out there right now between the north, central, and southern parts of the state. I have attended several state events, elementary duals state, and ISWA meeting, For me, it sure does get old driving to Indy all the time.
  7. Elementary- none. MS- none to very little. HS- depends on body type. Our HS kids cut very little this year. I think they were stronger, healthier, and happier.
  8. As I read the posts, I think there are two separate issues that are driving the responses. One side is arguing for deciding who the one true individual state champion is. The other side is arguing for what they see will advance participation in the sport as a whole. These two issue get blurred when talking about classing our sport. I don't know what the answer is. I do know that classing the team duals has helped us recruit kids out of the hall for our program as we have been fortunate enough to participate each year in the IHSWCA State duals. It is something that we set as a team goal each year, We also feel that we can compete on a state level individually, but we are at a slight disadvantage compared to larger schools. Our program has had at least one State qualifier in 35 of the last 36 years. This year was our first placer in 6 years. This is a 1A school with a 400 kid enrollment. The "just work harder" argument bothers me a little. We work out all year like all other programs. We intentionally schedule matches with tougher and larger schools to prepare us for the tournament series. Our trouble is that we can't generate big numbers in the off season as most of our kids are 2-3 sport athletes. If we try to get the kids to specialize, then all our school's athletic programs will suffer. Any training academy is at least an hour to hour and half drive one way. We will continue to work hard and try to compete with everyone regardless of how the set up is. Tony Currie Adams Central
  9. Adams County has 2 of the 5 medals earned in by 1A schools, both were in the top 4. Great job Sawyer and Kaine.
