  1. I thinnk for all the reasons just described, it will be nearly impossible for pm to simply "get on the horn" and set up a dual with a powerhouse for next season. Im pretty sure contracts with teams run at least two years. What everyone is asking for really isnt possible.
  2. Thought he was referring to the penn lake dual.
  3. ???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
  4. The mountain isn't going to come to Mohammed. Those schools have enough showcase events that they probably don't want to travel to Indiana becuase they don't need to. Indiana schools are going to have to be the ones to travel and it has already been noted ad nauseum how this is very difficult
  5. If you would read ALL the posts that is what I said earlier. And yes, I do believe they could compete favorably with any of those schools. That was my point until it got derailed with "enrollmentgate."
  6. I know, they aren't Garrett. Poor little Garrett, only their prowess needs to be recognized when they perform well against bigger competition. Hey, don't forget, your numbers were wrong to from the bible you like to quote so I guess that makes two of us!
  7. You guys really have tunnel vision. MY POINT IS THAT EN CAN COMPETE PRETTY FAVORABLY WITH BIGGER SCHOOLS (NOT JUST CARROLL - WE HAVE GOTTEN OFF SUBJECT BECAUSE I MADE - GASP - A FACTUAL MISTAKE REGARDING ENROLLMENTS). IF YOU DON'T THINK IT'S A BIG DEAL A SCHOOL THE SIZE OF EN CAN COMPETE WITH ANY SCHOOL IN THE STATE BESIDES PM, FINE, THAT IS YOUR PEROGATIVE. I GUESS I AM EASILY IMPRESSED.
  8. Actually, the student differential is 790. Carroll has 2003 kids and East Noble has 1213. Might not be 1000 more but it's still considerably larger which was my ultimate point. Twist away, however.
  9. Oh yes, the bufoon is so burned. My original point is still accurate. En isnt that big of a school and they can compete very favorably with schools of much larger enrollments (WC, Penn, yes even tiny Carroll). I know y2, anything larger than your tiny Garrett is a mamoth program but just because i was such an idiot regarding the precise enrollments of the schools i was referencing doesnt make my original point incorrect. Sorry, but en is getting it done with what i would consider a smallish enrollment, no matter if they are in one mythical class or another. Guess i better stop, drop and roll.
  10. Sorry Mr. Cool, I have gone on websites in the past and looked at enrollments of the schools I'm talking about, not the website you are referencing to me just now so I'm sure it backs up your assertions that I am so wrong about the enrollments of said schools. The website I just checked says Carroll has 2230 kids currently. So, going off of an internet site I made my statement. I stand by Carroll having 1000 more kids than EN. Regardless, as usual, you boil $hit down to minutae. EN is doing it with a smaller enrollment than most of the 3a powers. NO MATTER the exact number of kids at each and every school . Bufoon out!
  11. Give up. These guys know that big guys are rarely on the same level as mid to light weight wrestlers when it comes to actual wrestling ability, so they make themselves feel better by telling all of us that big guys are better athletes. As ive stated before, who cares? Wrestlers trump athletes most of the time so just take comfort in that knowledge and let them have their "athlete" argument.
  12. The last time i looked bellmont had over 900 kids so to me, 1200 to 900 isnt that huge of a disparity. But when i compare en to carroll, with carroll having 1000 kids more, now that, imo, is a huge disparity. So, yes, im the dummy that never looks at facts but my point is en is doing it with not a huge enrollment which makes this years teams accomplishments even more impressive. en would stack up against any team outside of pm pretty favorably. Im not going to get into the "who's second best in the state" bull$hit but for their size en is awfully impressive.
  13. I am sorry but one of of the dumbest matches i have ever seen wrestled was at state last year and involved one of the heavies that is being touted as great athlete. Great athlete? Yes. Great wrestler? Not so much.
  14. This is the classic insult from the guys that really believe actual wrestling takes place place above 182 (i forgot, Sliga, my bad). They attack your kids. Well, my guess is 106 pounders are eating more "veggies" than their heavier counterparts and will, sad to say, live longer lives because they wont be overweight in their old age.
  15. So i was right, they are a fairly small 3a. frankly, i put bellmont and en at the same level as far as enrollments go. I undrstand that there has to be a cutoff point for the mythical class rankings (i say mythical because the ihsaa doesnt recognize classes in wrestling and the only association that really matters to a high school administration and the athletes themselves is the ihsaa) but en is a fairly midsized indiana high school.
  16. Nah, high jacking a thread is much more fun.
  17. yeah, i know you really hate telling someone they are wrong. Curious, what are the mythical class breaks? En has about 1200tkids (about 1000 fewer than carroll) so i would guess they are a fairly small 3a.
  18. Frankly, you dont have to be a great athlete to be a great wrestler. So to brag about athleticism for heavier wrestlers really doesnt mean much, imo. Ill take a hard nosed kid that is willing to get good at his craft rather than just rely on strength and ahleticism (which is what most heavies do) any day. Now, when you have a kid thats athletic and works at actually becoming a wrestler (again, something most heavies dont so), then you have a superstar and most of those superstars are in the light and middle weights. Yes, Sliga is the guy who's an athlete and a wrestler. Give me another.
  19. i didnt bite, just added a little fuel to your fire!
  20. Gotta love aoberlin! Hijacked the thread and gonna get people off on a "heavies wrestle a different style, it's still wrestling, just different" vs "lightweights actually know how to wrestle especially compared to the dancing bears at 285." And finally, all the heavy supporters will throw out their patented "Sliga knows how to wrestle and he's a heavy" to which I would like to ask "and who else besides Sliga can you name?" LOL
