  1. How much does Chalfant weight? If he isn't over 230 I can't see him throwing the heavies like Fitzgerald and Everett around. Travis from Merrillville is built like a brick ---------house and is very athletic and it was just too much for him. Should be interesting, as are a lot of weight classes. Lot of what should be championship matches, in my opinion, will be happening in the semi-finals. It's a shame that Cashe and little T won't be meeting in the finals. Barring any unforseen upset it will make a great semi-final match.
  2. What do they give boo points for? Most of my postings have been the results of CP' matches, sectionals etc.. I remember posting something negative about one of the dual tourneys being so weak that this one particular team went 4-1 in the tourney and we shut them out in a dual. Would that warrant a boo point? Maybe deservedly so, but I don't remember anything else that would warrant one.
  3. Sorry I missed one of the advancers from Delphi. I'm getting old and was still hot under the collar about a situation that occured during the finals. I am very unhappy that the moderators removed my posting about the situation since I didn't mention any names and they let Southern fan get away with a blatant postking abot the running of the Evansville semi-state.
  4. Doesn't anyone in the Evansville area know how to post results with the scores of the matches on them? I would think it would be up to the host school's athletic director to appoint this task to someone, or the host school's coach. Wrestling is not going to be able to gain it it's popularity if we cannot follow it throughout the state. At least your semi-state posted something, although not acceptable in my opinion. I don't know why the region and the Ft. Wayne area bothers to post anything, if it is not recipricated by the mid-state and southern state schools. Many kudoos to AndrewGoul and Denny Miesle for the fabulus posting they provided on the Ft. Wayne9 Woodlan semi-state. The New Castle semi-state hasn't posted notta, which is shameful, for a semi-state of that importance.
  5. I second the congrats to the Logansport regional wresters. If I counted right they have 11 wrestlers advancing to the state finals. Delphi made a fine showing by advancing 4,. Atwood looked awfully good and will definately be high on the podium, if not on the top. Everett also showed that he clould make it to the top. Delphi showed that they have some good young wrestlers. I believe this is the best showing that this rfegional has made in quite some time. Good luck to your team in the team finals Coach Atwood.
  6. We certainly couldn't stand another round of using 4 mats because they don't have the room to put the bottom bleachers down for the fans. I would guess there were at least 300 people that had to stand in the stairwells, lobbies along the walls and whereever they could find a place at the Merriville semi-state. This was from 9: A.M. til 2:00 P.M.. They have got to find someplace to hold this event. Arguably, the best semi-state and by FAR the worst place to hold the event.
  7. Cadet 130: I think you might have been directing your "Over Who?" remark to me when I stated that Jones from Merrillville would win by 5 or by fall. I was saying he would beat Davenport in either fashion. Sorry Logansport regional fans.
  8. Decbell l: I see the results from the regionals. However they are posted on a form sent to them and they don't have the scores of the matches on them. Very few of the regionals had someone post the actual results with the scores of the matches on them, which makes it easier to determine if a wrestler is dominant or not. Therefore, the three semi-state fans have an advantage over the Merrillville semi fans, because the Merrillville has the complete results from 3 of the feeding regionals.. The Woodlan semi had 2 posting of complete results. They were from Jay County and Peru. Peru's was great as it gave the results fromthe quarter finals all the way thru the finals
  9. No, when they wrestled their conference dual Jones beat Nuzzo 10-9, but since then he has been dominant He has won the Duneland tourney, sectional and regional and he beat Almarez 12-4 last week.
  10. Keon Jones has vastly improved since Al Smith. He beat Almarez from Highland last week. Almarez was ranked 3rd in the state. I'll take Jones by at least 5 points, if not by fall.
  11. The fans from the Merrillville semi-state that turn in a pick-em submission for each of the 4 semi-states are at a disadvantage because of the incomplete results reported from the other semi-states. The only regional of the Merrillville semi-state that didn't send in complete information was the Rochester semi-state. They didn't post any scores, just the winners . I have to give kudoos to Mike Stewart from Peru who turned in the most complete results. I have never seen results posted as complete as Mr. stewarts. It is pretty hard to judge just how good a wrestler is, unless the scores of the matches are posted. I couldn't find any results posted at all for a few of the regionals, which makes us almost have to go on the records alone. Please , it would be nice if someone from each site would take the responsibility to post complete results. Thanks.
  12. If you get there around 1:00 P.M. all the bleachers will be down and you will see some good bouts in the semi-finals.
  13. Y2 Will you be posting the results of everyone's picks or just contacting the winners. It would be nice to see how everyone did. Also, as I just posted, the results of the Carroll regional have not been posted, at least I can't find them.
  14. Carroll was one of the 4 regional sites on the pick-em contest. Could someone please post the results of that regional?

    UPSETS!

Rankings Guy: This has nothing to do with upsets, but you posted something about ticket round (Halsted vs Stevens). The brackets I saw would have them meeting in the semi-finals, barring any upsets. I believe they would both go to state regardless of who wins.
  16. Hogleg: I have probably been to more state finals than the years you have been on this earth. I know people do save seats, but most ushers wskill tell you that you cannot do that. I have saved seats myself, but it really is not allowed.

  18. I have been the first one in line on quite a few ocassions onlyto find out when I get in there that all the coves are taken. I believe there is an IHSAA rule that you can't save seats at tourney time. I might be wrong on that, but I know at the state finals you can't.

  20. While doing my picks of the 4 regionals involved inthe contest I noticed there is a kid from FW Dwenger at 103 lbs (Vore) that isn't even ranked. What's the problem with this oversight?
  21. Otherwise 219: You have done a lot of good work for this board, but I don't understand why you needed to post the results of the sectional again. I had them posted just the way Joe wanted them posted, only I didn't see the need to post all the team scores and rub in into the teams that didn't fare as well as the winner. After all only one team advances to next Wednesday. Thanks again though for all the good work you do for the board.
  22. Midget 5589: I hope you are right about CP making it downstate finally, but they will have to "come to wrestle" Wednesday night to beat Merrillville and then beat Portage, especially after Portage will have such an easy match against Munster. Maldonaldo seems to really get his kids up come tourney time. I agree, on paper CP should win, but paper is cheap. I don't mean totake a cheap shot against Munster, but I don't think they are in the same league as the other 3 teams at Portage Wednesday night.

If you know Bill maybe you would have a better chance of gettig them from him. He does know my daughter because even though she graduated in 1989 Scott Vlink still likes for her to keep the scoring book. The phone number at CP is 219-663-4885.
  25. AJ: I'm just a fan, I don't get the brackets til Saturday morning.
