Maldonado did the bimping first. Very disappointed not to see Roach wrestle. They forfeited 145 and bumped Avolas to 152. Don't worry about it, Kral will do fine when he meets stiffer competitition.

C Barnett: If you would officiate the Mater Deoi - Crown Point match it might end 7-7, but if anyone else would officiate it the outcome would probably be CP 10 Mater Dei 4. lol Mater Dei actually was one of the 3 or 4 teams that has a chance to beat them should they meet at team state. Actually CP is not a cinch to make team state, although we will be able to tell more after tonight's battle with our bitter rival.

I don't think too highly of your genius rankings since you have Franklin Community ranked higher than Center Grove and Center Grove beat Franklin 41 to 12 in a dual.

I think Mishawaka was a more dominant team last year, and I am from CP. That was the reason the crowd was down at Center Grove . Everyone that knows wrestling knew Mishawaka was going to win last year. I think any of 3 or 4 teams could win this year. Just my opinion.

My money is on Brooks. Super strong. Although I would like to see Petrov win. His Coach (dad) is a class act.

Thanks for the brackets. Happen to find 1 error that I know of on records though.. At 140 pounds Wartman is not undefeated. He lost 13 to 4 to Jason Tsirtsis.

ptd180: The 171 lb weight class for CP is certainly not a wink link. He only has 2 losses. One in overtime due to a locked hands call against a pretty well built kid from East Central and the other loss to Willis from Cathederal who finished 2nd in the state last year at 160 pounds. You might be thinking of 189, but he is built and can surprise at times.

Later last night after I made my post about the Harvest Classic I remembered that she would have had to beat the number 3 and number 11 ranked wrestlers, so that weight class wasn't weak. Sorry Sarah. Good luck on your goals.

We will be able to tell better after the Merrillville match. Right now I think Perry Meridian, Yorktown and Mater Dei would have the best chance of beating them. They haven't really wrestled the toughest schedule so far

She finished in 4th place at the Harvest Classic, which has turned into a weak tourney. She lost 9-1 to Matt Lechowicz from Lake Central at 112 lbs.

I agree the Micic-Fuqua match could have gone either way. Both should be ranked atleast in the top 10. They have wrestled each other many times so they know what to look for as far as offense goes. Fuqua did win without scoring a takedown, but the ref was within the rules on the points given. I saw Boston at the Traicoff and I believe he is going to be hard to beat.

I went thrumy stat book from last Feb. and I found that 49 of the wrestlers that made it to state participated at the Al Smith. That is 21.8%. I might be off by just a few because I wasn't sure of all of the teams that were at the Smith, but I am close.

I think Merrillville also goes to a tough tourney in Missouri.
