  1. Could the IHSWCA do anything to recognize this young man? The association is not directly involved with the IHSAA, so if the board were to so choose, it could designate some type of distinction upon this young man if they felt it was appropriate. If you are a member, maybe it is something that you could suggest to someone on the board. I don't know if it would be considered, or what in particular could be done, but possibly the association could right the wrong to some degree if they truly felt it was wrong.
  2. I suppose that even includes Roseanne Barr's version? You have to admit she was horrible, especially with the disregard (and even disrespect) she displayed during and after. I like to think of the many images and symbols of our great land as well as the individuals that I personally know who have made the commitment to fight for the honor of our beloved country. It is a great time to pause, relax, and reaffirm one's beliefs in our great nation. And, yes, the traditional ones are definitely the best!
  3. I could watch all day. I had to login for the finals broadcast and then it asked me to download a newer version of Windows Media to watch it. After doing this, all I can get on my computer is funky (neon) colored images of the wrestlers. My computer does not seem to run this fast enough. I wonder if the IHSAA decided to try out something new for basketball by making us the guinea pig? I can hear the broadcast in and out, but the images are awful.
  4. Cody Land of Lawrenceburg is the alternate that will replace Findley at 119.
  5. I definitely liked the four mat set up for the regional. I think that it helped things go smoothly through the first two rounds. However, if it were on a Saturday (which offers more time) I would prefer the 1-2 and 3-4 matches be wrestled side-by-side one weight class at a time instead of two finals at the same time. Richmond did a great job of organizing this tonight, and I agree, it ran very smoothly.
  6. Four mats at the high school. Planning to finish this evening.
  7. 152 (Not allowed to cut because I was also playing roundball at the same time) 160 1993
  8. Here are a couple of links to a news story about a Miami University hockey manager in RICHMOND, Indiana on Friday afternoon. This COULD have been the scenario for most anyone. I am all for traveling within reason, but sometimes it is just too much to risk. http://www.oxfordpress.com/oxford-sports/miami-university-redhawks/miami-hockey-student-manager-dies-in-crash-533544.html?imw=Y http://www.wlwt.com/news/22483957/detail.html Sorry I screwed up the first link on the original post.
  9. Isn't the rule that the maximum you can ever have for a weight class would be +3? I think EC ran into this last season with the rescheduled SD sectional with the team regional the next night. Weigh-ins are at 5 P.M. Is it possible for the IHSAA to assign another official if Richmond has four mats? This would give us a great chance of finishing this meet in one night. It is a long trip from Aurora to Richmond on back-to-back nights. We may not be able to have the bottom bleachers out for participants, but certainly other arrangements could be made on the floor with the lower side bleachers possibly.
  10. It came from our athletic director. We have already contacted all of our wrestlers.
  11. Richmond Regional has been postponed. No make-up information as of yet. Wayne County is currently in a Level 3 Emergency as are some of the other counties with participating schools.
  12. Richmond Regional officially postponed. Make-up information not yet known. I believe Wayne County is on a Level 3 Emergency as are several counties with participating schools.

  16. I think that Connersville would make a nice addition to the EIAC, currently: Batesville, East Central, Franklin County, Greensburg, Lawrenceburg, and South Dearborn. The farthest school is South Dearborn (or possibly, and we compete with Connersville in nearly every sport already. I think they may have petitioned the EIAC about joining, but I am not certain why they were turned down. The other two schools would not work for this conference, but I am not sure you will find a conference that would be willing to absorb these three schools into their scheduling at one time. I believe that gymnastics is the only sport that Connersville has that is not held as a conference sport for the EIAC. I know that Connersville already plays three EIAC schools in football, which would probably be the most difficult sport to work out in scheduling.
