  1. Let's stop diminishing Rooks win, he beat the top 2 guys at the weight today. Period. My hats off to him, he wrestled well and proved today what most of us already knew, he is a top contender at any weight he wrestles.

All good Sig, technically I guess you can say he was at one point in the room there, just not for long. I do not think anybody is ignoring the fact that it is a great room filled with great wrestlers. There are many wrestlers from around the Region that take advantage of the program that is offered that do not have those type of resources at their doorstep. Nice luxury to have in this area with great options for kids to take advantage of when training.

Sarcasm or no sarcasm, I will share my thoughts. If you did not already know DeLaPena is my oldest son. Back in his 7th or 8th grade year, he asked if he could go and see what RWA was about. So, I took him to 2-3 sessions, not sure the exact amount. After the sessions, I did not think it was worth it for me to pay for what we were getting out of the RWA program. Now I want to be clear, the RWA staff and production speaks for itself, so my hats off to what they have done for wrestling in the Region. Like, sportsfangms stated, it was simply not for us. That was the last time we attended any RWA session.

When was the last time you seen DeLaPena there and how many times?
  5. Technically, Head to Head is usually the first criteria used when seeding most events. This year's Info sheet has 2015 Head to Head, which I am sure is a typo that did not get updated.
  6. At the end of the day, the goal of the seeding meeting should be to separate the two best wrestlers in the weight class. For the sake of discussion, and this is what this forum is all about I believe, using the argument against a different tournament from last year to seed a wrestler, could the same argument be used to argue against the results of the same tournament but a different weight class? For the record it does not matter to me, the better kids will eventually work their way through the tournament and beat kids that may have been a little over seeded.

  10. He has been wrestling 132 but will be coming down to 126 soon. So kind of a 2 weight class bump to take on a great kid. It was a great match to watch between title contending kids.
  11. Rat, You got some pull here bud, your entertainment value warrants keeping your topic here instead of being moved, heck the guy even commented on it!

  18. Can the moderators please break this into two topics and place them in the correct forums? It appears the original topic has been Hijacked.
  19. He is wrestling only this year and plans to do both in the upcoming years.
