  1. I am sure they consider ‘what ifs’ but I assume actual YTD results play a larger role. I am positive we will see additions/subtractions for every team come January.
  2. With the results from last night I believe Perry Meridian could have grabbed the #5 spot by leading EMD with 2 matches to go. Columbus East, hanging with Cathedral, could have also moved themselves into a seeding position. Portage beat Crown Point by 1, which probably solidifies their position outside of the top 9 based on the results from other teams wrestling Crown Point and/or common opponents. As it has been said, extremely difficult to seed this event. I am sold on the top 4, but in a different order than I originally posted. Seeding 5-9 is rough and should make for a few sleepless nights.
  3. I envision the gym to be packed similar to the final scene of Louden Swain vs Brian Shute.
  4. Gotcha...I am just happy you are giving the Rebels 5 wins!
  5. If they both won it would be 8-6, not 9-5.
  6. How does Roncalli go from 26 to 20? The pin at 195 only gains Perry points, it does not take away from the Rebels because they got 0 points. Losing at 170 would take them from 26 to 23.....where do you get 20 points?
  7. How does Roncalli lose 6 points when the only difference you believe would be Mahan losing?
  8. Rebels have 5 different kids in the lineup -- 2 of them are State Ranked; they only lost 3 points from Sam Hansen. Avon lost Miranda and Osho who had big wins (10 points). Avon also got 6 points at 106 which will not occur this year because the Rebels will get the fall. The dual will be totally different than last year. I am not predicting a win for the Rebels, but I am quite certain it will not be 37-18.
  9. I don't see 41-20, what changes in your mind?
  10. Possibly although Salazar had been wrestling extremely well until Saturday when it appeared he was just a little off his game. I don't know anything about your 195 but Wade is just getting his feet wet at the varsity level so I gave Avon the advantage. I will admit I had the Rebels as a 5-7 point favorite until I put the matches down on paper. If the lineups / weights remain the same it would be a dogfight but I expect there would be some changes if they were to meet in Fort Wayne.
  11. This was the Marion County roster from Saturday for the Roncalli Rebels. I could make guesses about changes but just going with the facts that I know. 106 - Kody Glithero (Freshman, 15-4), State ranked #12 and #6 in Semi-State (4th place at Marion County) vs ??? // Roncalli favored 113 - Zach Wilson (Freshman, 7-5), Unranked (5th place at Marion County) vs Blaze Garcia // Toss-up 120 - Brayden Lowery (Junior, 13-0), State ranked #4 and #1 in Semi-State (1st place at Marion County, 3rd and 5th at State Finals) vs Tyler Conley // Roncalli favored 126 - Sam Slivka (Junior, 10-2), ranked #8 in Semi-State (2nd place at Marion County) vs Ray Rioux // Avon favored 132 - Alex Viduya (Junior, 13-0), State ranked #2 and #1 in Semi-State (1st place at Marion County, State Champ and 4th place) vs Asa Garcia // Toss-up 138 - Tyce Freije (Junior, 13-0), State ranked #6 and #1 in Semi-State (1st place at Marion County, 8th place at State Finals) vs Jaden Reynolds // Roncalli favored 145 - David Page (Junior, 8-6), Unranked (4th place at Marion County) vs Roy Reynolds // Avon favored 152 - Trent Smith (Senior, 9-5), Unranked (5th place at Marion County) vs Nathan Conley // Avon favored 160 - Lorenzo Salazar (Senior, 12-2), Unranked (5th place at Marion County) vs Camden Chatterton // Roncalli favored 170 - Elijah Mahan (Senior, 12-1), State ranked #6 and #4 in Semi-State (1st place at Marion County, 5th place at State Finals) vs Bryce Kern // Roncalli favored 182 - Sam Peeples (Freshman, 2-3), Unranked (6th place at Marion County) vs Carson Brewer // Avon favored 195 - Jeorge Wade (Junior, 1-3), Unranked (DNP at Marion County) vs Joshua Jones // Avon favored 220 - Spencer Fears (Senior, 10-4), Unranked (5th place at Marion County) vs Jayden Williams // Avon favored 285 - John Harris (Senior, 11-1), State ranked #12 and #2 in Semi-State (2nd place at Marion County) vs ??? // Roncalli favored 6-6 with 2 toss-ups.....it would be a fun dual to watch, especially given if the State Champs were to face off again.
  12. Based on actual results and watching many of the teams participating: 1. Cathedral (beat Portage 46-18, beat Avon 43-21) 2. Warren Central (beat Avon 41-17, lost to Cathedral 28-31) 3. EMD (beat Avon 43-24) 4. Brownsburg (beat Avon 36-17) 5. Roncalli (beat Carmel 29-27) 6. Carmel (lost to Roncalli 27-29) 7. Perry Meridian (beat Columbus East 42-20) 8. Avon (lost to EMD 24-43, lost to Brownsburg 17-36, lost to Warren Central 17-41, lost to Cathedral 21-43)
  13. With team state fast approaching, analyzing the results may help in seeding. 106: 1st - Cottey (PM),2nd - Perry (WC), 4th - Glithero (Ron) // Perry defeated Glithero 113: 1st - Pierson (WC), 3rd - Haggerty (PM), 5th - Wilson (Ron) // Pierson defeated both Haggerty & Wilson 120: 1st - Lowery (Ron), 2nd - Stewart (WC), DNP - Venegas (PM) 126: 1st - Ross (WC), 2nd - Slivka (Ron), 5th - Anthony (PM) // Slivka defeated Anthony 132: 1st - Viduya (Ron), 2nd - Beatty (WC), DNP - Cavallero (PM) 138: 1st - Freije (Ron), 3rd - Smith (PM), 4th - Rowlett (WC) // Freije defeated Smith 145: 1st - Warren (PM), 2nd - Graves (WC), 4th - Page (Ron) 152: 1st - Coleman (WC), 2nd - Fair (PM), 5th - Smith (Ron) // Coleman defeated Smith 160: 1st - Taylor (WC), 2nd - Baker (PM), 5th - Salazar (Ron) // Baker defeated Salazar 170: 1st - Mahan (Ron), 2nd - Davis (PM),3rd - McClain (WC) // Davis defeated McClain 182: 4th - Dycus (WC), 5th - Clayton (PM), 6th - Peeples (Ron) // Dycus defeated Clayton 195: 3rd - Bishop (WC), 5th - Goodall (PM), DNP - Wade (Ron) // Bishop defeated Goodall 220: 2nd - Lane (PM), 3rd - Mitchell (WC), 5th - Fears (Ron) // Lane defeated Mitchell, Mitchell defeated Fears 285: 2nd - Harris (Ron), 5th - Hubbard (WC), DNP - Jones (PM) // Harris defeated Jones HEAD TO HEAD: Warren Central vs Roncalli: 5 wins for WC, 2 wins for Ron Warren Central vs Perry Meridian: 5 wins for WC, 4 wins for PM Roncalli vs Perry Meridian: 4 wins for Ron, 1 win for PM TEAM SCORES: Warren Central -- 294.50 (4 Champs) Roncalli -- 241.50 (4 Champs) Perry Meridian -- 225.0 (2 Champs) BETTER PLACING: Warren Central vs Roncalli: 9 for WC, 5 for Ron Warren Central vs Perry Meridian: 9 for WC, 5 for PM Roncalli vs Perry Meridian: 6 for Ron, 8 for PM EVALUATION: Warren Central was clearly the best team on Saturday placing all 14 wrestlers in the top 5. Roncalli and Perry would be a close match and typical with close matches bonus points would be the deciding factor.
  14. Two explanations COULD be (1) bad cooking or (2) good eating habits. Realistically it would probably be explained by the reasons below: 132 -- Better seed and now the favorite to win 138 -- Still a great chance to have the champion 145 -- It would have been difficult to beat both Graves and Warren regardless; high placement is still a possibility 152 -- Better seed and more likely for a higher placing 160 -- Better seed and now the favorite 170 -- Better seed and now the favorite 182 -- Not better. Overall they improved their seeding, probably improved their scoring and in turn lowered the available points for Warren & Perry. That is a win-win-win in my book; now all that is left is execution.
  15. He is WAY ahead of the competition after my vote.
  16. Looking at the team race, see below for the potential head to head battles between Perry, Roncalli and Warren. Assuming the seeds hold, which I know won’t happen every time, Roncalli would face a wrestler from Perry/Warren 12 out of 14 weights before the Finals (8 times it would be Perry). There are 8 brackets where the probability is high they will each have a wrestler in the semi-finals. (106, 120, 126, 138, 152, 160, 170, 220). Fun, fun, fun. 106 - Semi: Perry #3 (WC), Glithero #2 (Ron) // Cottey #1 (PM) 113 - Quarterfinal: Pierson #1 (WC), Wilson #8 (Ron), Semi: winner, Haggerty #4 (PM) 120 - Semi: Lowery #1 (Ron), Venegas #5 (PM) // Stewart #2 (WC) 126 - Semi: Slivka #1 (Ron), Cotter #4 (PM) // Ross #2 (WC) 132 - Semi: Viduya #1 (Ron), Cavailero #9 (PM) // Beatty #2 (WC) 138 - Semi: Freije #2 (Ron), Smith #3 (PM) // Rowlett #1 (WC) 145 - Quarterfinal: Warren #2 (PM), Page #7 (Ron) // Graves #1 (WC) 152 - Semi: Coleman #2 (WC), Smith #3 (Ron) // Fair #1 (PM) 160 - Semi: Salazar #1 (Ron), Baker #4 (PM) // Taylor #2 (WC) 170 - Semi: Davis #2 (PM), McClain #3 (WC) // Mahan #1 182 - Semi: Clayton #3 (PM), Peeples #No seed (Ron) // Dykus #No seed (WC) 195 - 1st Rd: Bishop #7 (WC), Wade #No seed (Ron) // Goodall #8 (PM) 220 - Semi: Lane #1 (PM), Mitchel #5 (WC) // Fears #2 285 - 1st Rd: Harris #2 (Ron), Jones #No seed (PM) // Hubbard #5 (PM)
  17. http://www.trackwrestling.com/tw/predefinedtournaments/VerifyPassword.jsp?tournamentId=191949132 Perry Meridian: 3 - 1st seed, 2 - 2nd seed, 2 - 3rd seed Roncalli: 5 - 1st seed, 4 - 2nd seed, 1 - 3rd seed Warren Cenral: 3 - 1st seed, 5 - 2nd seed, 2 - 3rd seed Rebels and Warriors both have 10 seeded in the Top 3, Perry is next with 7. As usual the title will be decided on how ‘the team performs’ and not only the top kids but looking at the brackets Roncalli & Warren should like their chances to unseat the Falcons. Will be an entertaining Saturday.
  18. Small breaks between some of the rounds but typically it moves very well. Naturally you will have some byes/mismatches but overall the talent is strong and competition is fierce.
  19. TEAMS: Beech Grove, Ben Davis, Brebeuf Jesuit, Decatur Central, Franklin Central, Lawrence Central, Lawrence North, North Central, Perry Meridian, Pike, Roncalli, Southport, Speedway, Warren Central WRESTLERS: 106: Alex Cottey, PM (#1) - Carleton Perry, WC (#11) - Kody Glithero, Ron (#12) 113: David Pierson, WC (#3) - Antonio Jefferson, LC (#11) - Anthony Hughes, LN (SS#6) 120: Brayden Lowery, Ron (#5) - Christian Stewart, WC (#14) - Ceu Kung, PM (SS#6) 126: Jevian Ross, WC (#13) 132: Gabriel Smith, PM (#13) - Audre Beatty, WC (SS#5) - Sebastien Bryant, NC (SS#8) 138: Alec Viduya, Ron (#3) - Jarred Rowlett, WC (#8) - Luke Goodwin, Spt (SS#6) 145: Antwaun Graves, WC (#2) - Aiden Warren, PM (#4) - Tyce Freije, Ron (#9) 152: Sam Fair, PM (#2) - Brice Coleman, WC (#11) 160: Aaron Taylor, WC (#11) - Noah Baker, PM (SS#5) 170: Brooks Davis, PM (#10) - Lorenzo Salazar, Ron (SS#6) - Damon McClain, WC (SS#7) 182: Elijah Mahan, Ron (#6) 195: Austin Lane, PM (#7) - Eliseo Caldera, LC (SS#5) - Nathan Bishop, WC (SS#6) 220: 285: Jamichael Watts, NC (#1) - Darrione Gregory, LC (#5) - Muhammad Sadibe, BD (#9) - Dennis Hubbard, WC (#12) - Sam Jones, PM (SS#4) - John Harris, Ron (SS#6) Warren has 12 guys ranked (State or Semi-State), Perry has 9 and Roncalli 7. Based on that you would believe Warren Central is the team to beat but there is no doubt both Perry and Roncalli are good enough to make the team race a toss-up. I believe they have the seeding meeting tonight and hopefully they are posted so we can have a meaningful discussion.
  20. I am sure there is a topic 'somewhere' but to avoid finding it I thought I would ask for confirmation -- are these the teams participating for 3A? Cathedral, Perry, Columbus East, EMD, Roncalli, Brownsburg, Portage, Avon, Penn, Warren Central, Carmel and Northridge?
  21. Any details on this match? I was on a plane therefore unable to attend, curious to know how the scoring went down .... 8-1 surprises me between these 2 wrestlers.
  22. You poundsign people are so friendly with each other....it warms my heart.
