Thanks to the New Palestine Dragons for a great day of wrestling and hospitality. Also, thanks to the announcer who updated the team scores afte each weight class in the final round. The Roncalli Rebels finished with champions at 112, 119,125 & 130. Can't wait until next year............

On a more positive note; both days of wrestling at Franklin went very smoothly. We were out of the school by 10:15 PM, Saturday and 12:45 PM on Sunday. All of our kids had an enjoyable experience. The fieldhouse is a great place to hold a wrestling tournament. Pat VanHorn, Chris Lynch and the entire Franklin Community wrestling program should be congratulated for such a great event. -

At last look it is on for Thursday, 02/05/09, 6:00 PM at Seymour HS. Weigh-ins at 5:00 PM A move to next Tuesday or Wednesday certainly makes more sense for each of the four teams involved. As it stands each of the four teams will have minimal practice time before individual regionals.

New Castle, Columbus North and Roncalli are sectional team winners advancing to the Seymour team regional. We are just waiting for the team champion from the South Dearborn sectional.

It appears to me that the teams being impacted are New Castle, Columbus North, Roncalli and the evential winner of the South Dearborn sectional. How about letting the individual tournament proceed on Saturday and postpone the Seymour team regional to Wednesday, 02/11/09. This assumes that the South Dearborn sectional can be completed on Thursday.

I just observed on Indianapolis TV that UCCJSD (Union County) schools are closed, tomorrow. How will this impact the conclusion of the South Dearborn sectional? Additionally, will this delay the Seymour team regional to Friday? That makes little sense. How about postponing the Seymour team regional to next Wednesday?

According to the current Winter Bulletin, the list is submitted electronically at the IHSAA member school web site: www.ihsaa.net . It is due by 4:00 PM, 01/20/09. -

The following is from the current Winter Bulletin: IX Eligibility of Participants B. The IHSAA copy of the entry list is the official copy. 1. A wrestler entered on the official entry list may be entered in his/her listed weight class or in the class immediately above his/her listed weight class at the seeding meeting. 2. After the seeding meeting, no wrestler entered and seeded or placed by draw may change weight classes during the individual tournament. -
