Marcus Schontube from Lowell is (was) a great leg wrestler. He was a two time state champion at 171 (1999 & 2000) and went on to wrestle at Penn. I also believe he was an all-state linebacker.

According to the GHS web site, the entrants for this year's Super 8 Tournament are: Arsenal Tech Gibson Southern Greenwood Muncie Central Rushville Scecina (Indianapolis) Shelbyville Tri-West (Hendricks County) This is always an entertaining dual tournament. Typically, there are two pools of four teems. Pool wrestling is followed by No. 1 vs No. 2 and No. 1 vs No. 1. It will be run well. Quick in and out.......... Great concessions and hospitality room.

I have to believe that the Bradley (Beech Grove) and Campbell (Delta) families have to be recognized in this effort. I'll look up the win/loss info for both of these. I took a quick look at ontherise219's top five post. Great work. If we examine the winning percentage it ranges from 71.2% - 98.6%. Additionally, the total number of matches ranges from 287 - 652. The Ellis brothers possesses the best winning percentage (98.6%) and the lowest number of matches wrestled (287). The Steinhauser family has the lowest winning percentage (71.2%) and the highest number of matches (652). The analysis is interesting.................

The Marion County Tournament, hosted by Perry Meridian, was one of the best organized and admistered I have been to in the last ten years. Cudos to AD Mike Sipe and tournament director Dave Fleming and his crew. We were out of the gym before 10:00 PM on Friday and headed home by 3:15 PM on Saturday. I agree with twinwrestlersmom that the Franklin Community Ironman was well run. I believe it was their first time with matside pairing. It seemed to work well.
