1. Hunter Hughes comes to my mind. I was always under the impression that he was in the ticket round 4 times, but never got through. However, I've also been told that he made state his freshman year. So I'm not sure if he qualifies for this discussion.
 2. I pulled these from another thread. Option A: 110,119,125,131,136,141,146,152,159,167,177,192,216,285 Option B: 106,113,120,126,132,138,145,152,160,170,182,195,220,285 Option C: 107,115,122,128,134,140,146,152,159,167,177,192,216,285
 3. I wasn't able to get the grades for some wrestlers because they weren't listed on those sectional brackets. For example, no grades were given in the Southridge Sectional. http://indianamat.com/brackets/2010/southridge.pdf I also suppose that participation % and forfeit % are one in the same. I just used different terminology.
 4. Alright, I've had a little free time as of late and put together the weight class participant #'s from sectionals. Here's the participation % for each weight...
103
72.6%
112
77.7%
119
84.2%
125
82.3%
130
86.8%
135
90.3%
140
91.3%
145
92.3%
152
88.7%
160
89.4%
171
91.3%
189
89.0%
215
86.8%
285
87.4%

Here are the weight class breakdowns by grades. The number below the weight class signifies the # of grades I was able to tally up for that particular weight. I wasn't able to account for all the grades for each wrestler. So for example: I was able to account for 197 grades for the wrestlers at 103. 55.8% of those 197 were freshman, 28.4% were sophomores, 11.7% were juniors, and 4.1% were seniors. 5. I don't know, maybe the economy? I hear that hasn't been doing too well lately...
 6. From the neutral position, we see people creating shot attempts, but getting countered and giving up takedowns often times. Should they get rewarded for that work?
 7. If the bottom kid is just laying there on his belly. He probably should be getting hit for stalling, yes?
 8. Take it however you want it. I was just fixing the numbers from the other thread. The post wasn't really meant to be an opinion in itself.
 9. No, escapes are what's all that's needed for making the bottom man work. We don't need glorified stalling. As far as watching Metcalf. The reason why he's able to accumulate alot of riding time is because he can take his man down, virtually, at will. He won't ride for long periods of times if he's not in real good position to score. Once he realizes this, he generally cuts his man. Then proceeds to take him down again, repeating the cycle.
 10. I saw the other thread and it appears that the win percentage was botched pretty good. So I took it upon myself to attempt to sort out the mess. This is what I came up with.
Weight
#103#112#119#125#130#135#140#145#152#160#171#189#215#285
Records
673-64621-65572-75606-71638-71597-74565-72570-71583-70565-71608-62565-80591-90596-76
Win Pct. 11. What about Allen Weinzapfel from Mater Dei? He was jv up till his senior year I think, in which he won state.
 12. From my memory, Rosbottom beat Jankowski in regulation 3-2, with him scoring the only takedown. I do remember Rosbottom stalling his butt off, just trying to hold on, and the Mater Dei faithful just going nuts. Outside of that, everything else seems to be spot on.
 13. You see, this is why we don't need wrestlebacks. Just imagine how much more time would've been added with full wrestlebacks. ;D
 14. See what happens when you put the pressure on and stand up for what is right? People are going to ask if this is fair and say how certain wrestlers are going to be having bad draws now and what-not. However, at this point, there's going to be no easy and simple solution. This is probably the best solution that can be come up with in such a short time span. To think people actually criticized my stance that all the coaches should've just walked out Saturday. People defended them by saying, "they were just doing what they were told," or, "the IHSAA would've just forfeited the whole regional." What the IHSAA is allowing with the Randolph County wrestlers is a prime example of what happens when you stand up against an injustice, and put the pressure on for what you think is right.
 15. You can email Bobby Cox at bcox@ihsaa.org.
 16. While I do agree that it would've been a tough decision to make. However, that's what life's like. The right choices aren't always easy, and the easy choices aren't always right. Sure, for most of those coaches, the easy choice was to not say anything and pawn it off as that's just tough luck for Winchester and Co. Does that make them bad people? Absolutely not. However, it doesn't mean they were right in their choice.
 17. This is fair. I think I'm mostly irritated because it appears that Bellmont is the only team that stood up against the injustice. I want to know what the other coaches were thinking when Bellmont stepped to the plate? Did everyone else really not say anything to defend the absent schools? Judging by the Jay County's upcoming schedule for the following week. There is NO REASON why they couldn't have moved around those other events, or have found a way to make it work. It was just that they were lazy and didn't want to put in any critical thinking.
 18. One of the issues, yes. The IHSAA, Jay County administration, and maybe Trent McCormick will all be held accountable as well. There can be multiple levels of blame to be put across, to not bring up all the variables would be foolish and irresponsible.
 19. Well I'm sorry that you can't see bigger picture here. I'm sorry that you can only see the here and now, and can't focus on the possible ripple down effect this could have for years to come. You and I are on just two different levels of thinking here.
 20. Let's look at it from a risk-reward standpoint. Does the risk of forfeiting for just this one time (which I disagree with what would've happened if the entire regional stood up) outweigh the benefit of not having to put up with this type of situation ever again? I wholeheartedly believe that Jay County would've done some rearranging with upcoming events so they could appease the 20 or so teams here.
 21. I agree. I think people are ok with this because no top top tier individuals or teams were effected by this. But what if this happened to Mater Dei, or Mishawaka, or Perry Meridian, or Crown Point? Which it very well could happen to next time. I GUARANTEE that people would change their tune to this.
 22. Well obviously what's done is done, and you're not going to see me saying they need to redo the regional round. But what about the next time? and the time after that? Granted, one team standing up (Bellmont) isn't going to do anything, as what was evident today. But if 20 teams stood up, that makes for a much bigger impact. It shows that we aren't going to take this type of injustice, not from Jay County or the IHSAA. This is a prime example of why we can't get anything done with the IHSAA, as far as getting things passed (like wrestlebacks). No one stands up for what they believe in. We, as a state, are too content with just sitting back and saying, "oh well, that was an injustice or just tough luck."
 23. It wouldn't have been a forfeit though. If the other Jay County teams do what was right, the message would've been sent and it would've been re-scheduled.
 24. Bellmont stood up, so obviously they felt something needed to be done. If they all stood up, Jay County would've been virtually forced to re-schedule the tourney by default. If no one wrestles, you can't have the meet right?
