  4. The question asked what the toughest tournament for your team was, so that may be the toughest for that team. But you are right it's not in the same conversation with Al Smith, etc. But still a good little opener.
  5. Just received the call out sign up sheets from our middle school today 32 6th graders 21 7th graders 26 8th graders We will see how many actually show up to practice.
  6. 22 yesterday on day 1, a few physicals turned in, a negative X-ray from gym class(badminton) we ended up with 26 today and another 1 on IR. These are my lowest #s since I started. However saying that I have 1 beginner. And I'd say 23 or so I wouldn't hesitate to put in a varsity lineup if I had to. My last few seasons had been right under 40. Ironically, my 2 lowest # seasons have been the years CC has been invited to the team state. Kids I lost- 1 sr because he believes he would be jv, another to IR (needs Tommy Johns surgery and not a ball player). 6 Jr's and 4 of them were suspended a year ago for either grades or school rules. 4 sophs including an ISWA State champ, a returning regional Qual, varsity rb, and a bowler. Any tips on how to keep those guys, particularly the sophs?
  7. Jackson Pettigrew of Columbia city last year 33-16 as a sophomore. Was down 7 going into 3rd period in first round of sectionals, scored 11 points to win in the 3rd. Then won in OT to move into 3rd/4th place match at sectional. 3rd, 3rd, 4th and defeated by B Lee on Friday night. Now he's 35-2 going into ss

  9. I had 2 wrestlers with beards at ISWA State. They were told as long as it was not abrasive it was fine.
  10. 113 at Carroll has 2 returning state qualifiers, 3 semi state qualifiers, and a regional qualifier. Plus 2 freshman that aren't too bad.
  11. We have wrestled Niles the last 5 or 6 years at Penn. Plus the last 2 years at defiance Ohio tournament. Love to watch this team wrestle, they get after it. The coaching staff is a blast to talk to as well.
