  1. I will tell you that we had class wrestling in South Carolina. Classes in of themselves do not increase participation and the state championship finals have 4 mats going at once, which blows. Single class makes the state tournament an event for kids, spectators, and college coaches alike. And like I said with wrestlebacks, the NCAA tournament blood round isn't any less exciting due to wrestlebacks. Anyone remember nick Lee losing his first match and placing 3rd? There would be those moments in our tournament and they would be talked about just as much as who wins.
  2. Does wrestlebacks make the NCAA tournament any less exciting? The blood round at the NCAA tournament is still wildly exciting even with it being in the consolation bracket
  3. The goal is to get as close to the 16 best kids in the bracket at states. And we aren't talking about the evenutal champ losing, we are talking about making it to the show and having a chance. Wrestlebacks help with that goal. Also, there's still a ticket round. It's called the semis and consi semis. It just changes when the ticket round occurs. I think its ridiculous to lose your first match at states and get booted. Some of those kids are players in a wrestleback system. Once again, the goal should be to get the best 8 kids on the podium. But I LOVE the single class system and the environment it creates at the site.
  4. You know that sometimes kids move because their parents change jobs right? How about ya stop painting with broad brush. Also, private schools compete in the same leagues as public schools, open enrollment should be an unquestioned thing anyways with that in place.
  5. I think there should be true wrestlebacks to third at every qualifying tournament. However, the single class tournament is 1) a gigantic money draw for the IHSAA 2) one of the greatest experiences in high school sports and 3) you know you're the dude when its over. Classed wrestling will destroy the Indiana state tournament. But there should be wreslebacks.
  6. I think 7 for Penn sounds about right, I think 8 is possible with an upset in one of the ticket rounds. I'm a Penn guy, but I try to be realistic and do some research. I'm not gonna say which 7 though.
  7. What i mean is that if they incorporate both options, which they very well could, its a win. For example, if they leave track and flo mostly seperate, you're good. Also, most high school wrestling on flo doesn't require a sub to watch.
  8. However, if flo includes track in its subscription, essentially you could watch any wrestling taking place on planet earth at any time and not paying 20 bucks a tournament. Could be a good thing honestly.
  9. 106: Bennett 113: Miller 120: Montelongo 126: Vargo 132: Harper 138: Sinko 145: Powell 152: Norton 160: Steenbeke 170: Eastin 182: Timmerman 195: Grange 220: Kendall 285: Donati That's what I got.
  10. Both the high school my son left in SC and Penn's AD signed off on my son's transfer. The IHSAA came back with an initial ruling of limited eligibility. So everything that was just said about if the ADs just sign it, the IHSAA doesn't look at it, is 100% incorrect.
  11. While I don't agree with any of this situation. My son is that "South Carolina" kid. I did everything right. It took until Dec 23rd for him to get eligible. Sorry for moving my family back to where I grew up because I'm retiring from military service. I don't agree with what happened to Christian, but keep my son out of your grievances.
