    Not sure if Mendez ever thought about going to Penn St. But sitting a year behind RBY then taking over at 133 next year could have been a good route. But who knows he is really good and may sneak up on some of these 5 year seniors and 4 year juniors. Good luck to Jesse. Too bad him and Bouzakis are both 133 and I don't see that changing unless Bouzakis goes 141, which I think is highly unlikely.

    On the Ohio state boards they say Bouzakis is beating Mendez in the room?? Redshirt for both these guys would be good. Probably the reason they did not wrestle off. Maybe get more answers at Michigan state open. I just don't see either at 141 so I guess one has to go this year and the other next year at 133.

    Big Mendez fan but 133 is really tough. I am thinking 6-8 or round of 12 this year. Biggest thing will be how he gets out from bottom. Was really hoping he would redshirt and then I think he would have been in the category as a 4x champion. RBY and Fix will be 1 and 2 if healthy. Good luck to Mendez he is fun to watch.

    What does cp line up look like? Somebody really good like a state qualifier or placer may be a back up

    Very impressive! CP looks to be getting another good one. Looking at track wrestling he was not wrestling for RWA or Bulldog Primier. So I was not thinking Crown Point. Good luck to him.

    Where does he go to high school. Pretty impressed with him this weekend.

    Wow that's huge! Jason Tsirtsis moving from Griffith to CP, changed that CP program like no other. CP would have still been good and was a solid program but him moving to CP made them a powerhouse. Many have followed after him. Region Wrestling Academy and now Bulldog Premier they sure do get the most out of those wrestlers and people want to move to CP. Where is Christian Carroll wrestling this year?

    J Tsirtsis benefited from a redshirt year big time. I saw him at the midlands his true freshman year and he had a little trouble on bottom. Then his redshirt freshman year at 149 he won because he was able to escape from the best riders. I think Jesse should do the same.

    Agree he should redshirt next year. He is a 133lb.. 141 is not a great wt for him next year imo. But he is really good wrestler. Bouzakis strength has been a huge challenge to him in these first couple matches and I think Mendez is better in freestyle

    Can't wait. Like Dustin Schlatter vs. Metcalf finally happening. Going to be great. Mendez seems to be wrestling great but don't think he has ever beat Bouzakis. Mendez in 3?!?!

    Mendez seems to be a perfect 133lb but so does Bouzakis.

    Thanks. Wow was not expecting that result. Thought maybe it might be close loss with the size difference. Give Mendez credit for going up a weight to try to get that revenge match.

    Swiderski is tough. Hopefully Jesse can get 3 or 4 takedowns. Is there a wt allowance Sig? Hopefully it is scratch 145

    So I see Jesse is wrestling Swiderski in that Rudis event at 145 (Is this scratch wt?). Looking at Swiderski record he competed at 152 and 160 all year. At Michigan State championship he is going 152. Then the following week he is back at 138 in the Dapper Dan (Is this scratch wt). That is impressive. Swiderski looks huge hope Jesse can find revenge in a couple weeks.

    Jason Tsirtsis senior year was one of the best I can remember. He won everything he was in and by wide margins against high school wrestlers. I remember Tsirtsis bumping up to 160 against Steveson and majoring him during a dual meet. Over the 4 years both a questionable loss but both beat a returning state champ as Freshman in the state finals. Maybe slight edge to Mendez over the 4 years but Tsirtsis senior year was really good.
