Really fun one. Aidan is going to be multi time placer in Indiana for sure. Zach lost a scramble in the first period which ended with Kincaide locking up a cradle and going up 5-0. Hard to battle back from that deficit against anyone who is good and Aidan certainly is. Will be a fun battle when they see each other again at Conference and perhaps Semi-State.

Aidan has a solid cradle. He was on my team at Heartland duals this past March and he was cradling everyone.

Cascade is looking for more JV opportunities. Currently have 2 invites on the jv schedule would like to add 1 or 2 more invites or duals. 

I am a new head coach and I was wondering if girls are still able to compete with boys this year or are they completely separate now?

Luke Farmer of Cascade.

Kid doesn’t get much attention on the state scene because he is a big football player. MS state placer, took Elijah Guyer to OT in the first round at state. Kid is tough and can make an impact as a freshman. 
 

Cascade is also bringing in a solid group of freshman. The group has been together for a few years now. Multiple MS state placers and some will be ready to step into the varsity lineup this season. 

Eminence’s coach is Broden Goodman. He was the head coach last season and will be there next season also. 

Syra and Butler in the semis at Mooresville will be a fun one to watch as well. 

I believe in 2011 there was a kid from Gibson Southern who was the sectional alternate then wrestled at regionals then again was the alternate at semi-state and got pulled in again and went on to qualify. Can’t remember the name though. 

Not sure if this has ever been brought up, but has anyone ever suggested adding in a small school division for the MS state duals like they have for the elementary state duals? I’m sure there would a lot of smaller schools that would  be interested in that as well as growing the event.

Charlie Hutchison from Cascade should be on the radar as well. Multiple time ISWA place winner and MS state runner-up. 

Are there any local preseason middle school tournaments coming up? I know last year there was the Gorilla melee, was wondering if there was anything like that again this year.

I agree, would love to see something like that for this event. I will definitely attempt to get into it next year for sure. Is there any possibility of that happening as this continues to move forward?

I can see some both good and bad that go along with having a qualifying tournament. The bad can be that it would deter some of those top tier kids from wrestling in it because of the back to back weekend commitment of it. I agree that it would be beneficial to have some automatic qualifying criteria for those kids. The good would be that it would give the mid to lower level kids an opportunity to get some more mat time against some tougher competition that they may not see during a regular middle school season with also a shorter drive than having to drive all the way to Center Grove from Northern or Southern Indiana. 

Will there be potentially a flyer or any kind of information like that coming out? Also any clue on how many they will place at the qualifier that will move onto the state tournament?

Have only had 1 dual where we have taken more than 2 FF's. Can't control what other teams bring, only can handle our business with our kids and lineup.

Where can we find these new weight classes?
