  1. . Prepare for disappointment then sir.......happens to all of us at some point or another............like this last weekend when the announcer at middle school state asked everyone to sit down behind the tables that were standing but wasn't talking to weisjahn because he didn't know he was standing up (I kid.I love the guy man) #TheCounty #PainTrain
  2. I would say (and this hurts) Caprino and this site do a lot for the sport JD, Tom Clark & Jim Littlejohn do so much beyond their referee gigs The people all involved in the hangouts, rankings and general growth of the sport (OTR, Nick, Dane, Howard, Chad, Caleb, Triple "B" Tournaments and State Tournaments don't run without Pat and Mary doing the pairings and all other things most people don't even know get done people who volunteer their time for boards (ISWA, IHWCA) Academy coaches (most of whom do not have kids in the sport and do it for the love of the sport.....Parrish--CWA, Blake & Matt--MCWC, Hawkins--RWA, Eppert & Gil--CIA, Hull--Pride) . This list could continue on and on but IMO these are the people that are keeping IN wrestling on the map and in some cases handing things off to a HS coach to then reap the benefits of success. Edit to say #TheCounty and #PainTrain (get some titles this wknd boys)

  4. Sounds like great info and good stuff..............Love all the idea's !!! Sounds like Rex is asking for people who are willing to host a sort of regional (qualifier for the eventual state tourney). Anyone want to step up and contact him to do this ? Please accept this as a way to change things that you think could use some change or tweaking and get involved in helping to facilitate said change.
  5. Hudkins from #TheCounty won 4
  6. so who is ready to write up a proposal and submit to IHWCA and then help out with all logistics ? MustangDaddy, MattM or better yet the guy who is very good at organizing events Mr. Justin Ratliff. You guys could be the Southern representation for organization and work with a Northern location representatives to get some legs under this idea. Come on guys step up and do this !!!! P.S. yep that's right leaving my profile pic to the one that was changed by the hackers
  7. . that wasn't a mustache..........it was nicks cat Sasha sitting on his lap, he can't grow a mustache yet yea that's right my profile pic is me and a pic of my new BFF.........so what were buds and he secretly loves #TheCounty & all things #PainTrain and ISWA related !!!! edit to say shout out to my boy Triple B and hello to OTR
  8. age is anywhere from k-6th as the event is a national elementary dual....I will say that usually (and I say there are some exceptions on this) the kids that make the teams and wrestle at the tournament are predominately intermediates and up. The weight classes start out at 50lbs and go all the way up to 150 I believe. Think about how many 50lb intermediates there are out that and even some smaller Novice kids and that is going to be the competition for the team as well as at the tournament from the other state's. Its a great tournament............for the kids that are ready for this level of competition. Any other questions please don't hesitate to ask, thanks.
  9. I wanted to get this out there so people can start planning for this. March 5th the Team Indiana wrestle offs will be held at Warren Central High School. They have graciously given us the use of their facility to hold these for the team qualifications. The date is listed on the ISWA home page under "tournament" tab then drop down to "ISWA event schedule" and click on the event listed on 3-5-17 "2017 team-in-heartland-elem-dual-wrestle-offs" and you will be directed to the flyer for the weight separations for the wrestle off schedule and the info about the trip. As posted in a previous post about the Middle School Dual trip this is a FANTASTIC trip for the competition level. If you have any further questions please feel free to call or text me at the below listed number
  10. I just wanted to make sure to point out on the flyer the area where it talks about this event being the qualifier for middle school national duals. This trip usually went to Danville in April but the last couple of years the competition level was declining to the point that last year there were about 14 teams from 6 states (4 ILL, 2 IN, 3 NE, 2 KY, 2 OH & 1 GA) not much of a national dual as the 2 Indiana teams ended up wrestling each other for 5/6 placement. This year we have elected to take the 2 IN middle school teams to the Heartland Duals 4-13,14,15 in Council Bluffs Iowa. The elementary teams have gone to this tournament for last several years and their middle school division has grown to last year having 38 teams from at least 20 different states. This is a bigger tournament and a better level of competition which is what our kids want in the end. The cost of the trip ($205) is less than last year due to the merge with the elementary for total #'s and the ability to get the hotel room comps for most coaches from the Iowa Visitors Bureau. I get that this is a farther drive but after attending this tournament for the last several years for the Elementary age kids I can tell you that other than Virginia Beach Duals there is not a tournament that will push and test your kids level of abilities better in the country than this one. The venue is a beautiful place and the hotel is on venue site (literally walk to venue). There are several of things in the area to do during down time for the parents and you will not regret making this trip nor will your wrestlers !!!! I will be at Middle School State next weekend at the awards area helping to hand out the plaques and medals to the state placers. I will also be handing out the packets to the qualifying wrestlers (1st and 2nd place winners of each weight class) and taking deposits for the trip so please bring cash, check or credit card and be willing to secure your wrestlers spot on the teams at that time. Lastly if your wrestler finishes in 3rd or lower place and you are interested in being an alternate for the trip should a higher placing wrestler decline please make sure to speak to me and provide me with all of your contact information so I can get a hold of you to fill the spot if this is the case. As always if you have any questions please feel free to contact me at the below listed number to further discuss (Unless your name is Joe C.....LOL). edit to include #TheCounty and shout out to my guy UncleJimmy (Friend of #TheCounty)
  11. . Hey Joe can you see this ???? I am holding it up really high out my office window............can you see what I am doing with my hand ?.................its not a #1 sign, but kind of looks like it in some sense............can you see it and what it means ???? Yeah that's right !!!!..........don't get your feelings hurt and start bashing me, as you like to put it...its just good fun to banter. P.S. thanks for the support UncleJimmy ( a Friend of mattyb & #TheCounty is always a friend to me) Sorry I had to make a sort of angry post but its getting to me !!! P.SS. Thanks Grecoref and Triple B
  12. . apples to oranges, but thanks for the post. Side note, did you really "like" your own post ?.......now that is funny . AJ, lets say you were following the rules and took time out of your weekend to attent the annual bid meeting to hold a tournament for your club and someone who failed to follow the rules (that you and all other clubs managed to follow) for a second year in a row and wanted to hold a tournament in the next town over or in close proximity. You mean to tell me that you and the other 11 clubs that followed the rules would not be a little upset about it ? people come on here and slam the ISWA for not holding hard and fast to the rules that are set out but even when we do hold hard and fast to those rules we take heat from people. Kind of a no win situation don't you think ?
  13. . my comment to his earlier comment was after he had already inserted himself into an issue that didn't involve him in the first place.....he always swoops in to be the savior and defender of everyone against the ISWA. My main issue is when the ISWA has done nothing wrong and someone goes on here and slams them why pile on and why not instead do the right thing and say something along the lines of "well sir, your points are not correct and you have to follow the rules like everyone else". In response to his comments................no you don't have to attend the meeting to have a tournament, but it is the only way to guarantee your planned date.....if you don't attend then you are at the mercy of the discretion of the ISWA to say if it is a good weekend or a bad weekend depending on the # of tournaments that were bid for at the bid meeting by the clubs adhering to the rules (he knows this and is just trying to stir the pot when it is not needed). Again why are there not more people posting comments in support of the ISWA on this issue is the real question ???
  14. . You really can't help yourself to get involved can you ?
  15. . Have a great tournament and enjoy your time. Understand the ISWA is here to help and is always an organization for the kids. Have Y2 help you make all the arrangements he is certainly well aware of how to interpret all rules and handle things on his own. Just know if you need us at the ISWA we are available for you and anyone else at any time.................just not maybe always on your terms. Side note, I think about everything I put on here but thanks for thinking about me.
  16. . I think it is great that you guys are wanting to have a tournament and that you were able to get the ISWA to work with you last year after you did not know about the meeting and bidding for tournaments. I would think that last year when you were allowed to have the tournament you would have been made aware of the process and the bid meeting and thus this year not be able to use the same excuse....then when you are told no then someone from your organization puts up a post up about how the ISWA is not willing to work with you......This is clearly not true by your own admission. Now on to your tournament on 2-25..........since you are not 100% familiar with the rules you may want to get on the website and read a little bit about the sanctioning and insurance for the tournaments and how it applies to un-sanctioned events.....I ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS hope that no kids get injured at a tournament but you should really be cautious about this part in particular because an unsanctioned event will not get insurance coverage thru the ISWA or USA wrestling. It would be my suggestion to move the date as you were asked by the ISWA to an alternate date that does not have 12 other tournaments (all were bid at the meeting) and thus allowing your self to get it sanctioned.
  17. . I believe they allow many tournaments to be held on same day no matter location or total # as long as the rules are followed when putting the tournament on............like attending the tournament bid meeting like all other clubs and representatives to bid for the tournament day. Gee and get this one.......the mean unreasonable ISWA even sometimes still tries to work out late entries by encouraging the club to hold the event on a weekend when there are no other already bid tournaments in their area on that day......but sometimes the club wanting to hold the tournament refuses to bend on their date and still wants to hold the tournament on the selected date and the ISWA has to hold to the set forth rules and tell that club they can not do that. Imagine that the ISWA trying to work with clubs to hold tournaments even when they did not follow the rules set forth.........what a horrible organization
  18. . This seems weird that the ISWA would not permit you to hold a tournament when you attended the annual bid meeting and bid for the date of the tournament like all the other clubs did........confusing to say the least.
  19. . Joe you want Wiesjahn and I to start working on some new graphics and back drops for the show ?
  20. . wait a minute................why not ?..........Triple B does it !!!! hahahahahahaha, I kid I love the guy !!!!
  21. . I believe the exact quoted conversation at the meeting went something like this....................... "Joe who", "this Joe guy wants to know what", "explain to me again who this Joe guy is", "never heard of anyone named Joe or any message board" so.............I just thought it was a bad dream I was having ??
  22. 1. so did we 2. see above guess that makes us equal and no different than Indianamat right ? Joe I am not arguing with you just pointing out to all the "other's" out there that obviously to error is human and sometimes a mistake is made and its not just by the ISWA (or as most like to call them the devil's board)
  23. . Yea and Hilary didn't know anything about the emails.......................that was a good laugh Joe, there are enough threads out there talking about the mistakes made on this board to entertain Triple B during a post thanksgiving visit to the little boys room !!!!
