  1. Just wanted to post some notable results for the Edgewood boys at the Columbus East Invitational: 170 - Koontz (Edgewood), undefeated on the day, over Jimmy Fisher (Columbus East) 8-7 for championship (Koontz bumped up for this. He is still 160) 195 - Chambers (Edgewood), undefeated on the day, over Brian Salmon (Ft. Wayne Woodlan) 12-4 for championship (Chambers also bumped up. He is still 182) 138 - Dillon Deckard (Edgewood), undefeated on the day, over Logan Dyle (Columbus East) 3-2 in second overtime for championship (Deckard is a dark horse at semi state if you ask me. That's it that I can think of. I'll let you know if I remember anything else.
  2. The word I got was that he is injured and may or may not return this season. It's heartbreaking to hear for any wrestler, let alone one that had such a great opportunity to be a state champ after being runner up twice. Thoughts and prayers to him and hopefully we will see him on that mat again this year. If not, we wish him good luck at Purdue. I'm certain he will be successful at that level as well.
  3. At Columbus North: Partee (Madison) over Koontz (Edgewood) 6-5 in DOUBLE OVERTIME (awesome match-potential Evansville Semi State Championship rematch) Chambers (Edgewood) over Wagner (New Pal) 4-3 also in Double Overtime Chambers over Sandlin (Madison) 4-3
  4. Chambers is 182 and I don't know if Wagner is going 182 or 195 for the season, but Chambers will want to bump up if he needs to. He wants the tougher matchups to prepare himself for post season.
  5. Not so much big team matchups at Columbus North, but we could see some good individual matchups. Koontz vs. Partee at 160 should be good, and Chambers vs. Wagner should be good as well.
  6. Wanted to thank you guys for answering my question. I'll make sure I keep you guys updated better on individual results. Just so I make sure you know. Koontz' results for that day were as follows: Koontz over Greenwood 170(not sure of the name) 5-0 Koontz over Deerwester at 170 9-5 Koontz over Brownsburg at 160 by fall Koontz over Brown County at 160 by fall Koontz over Bloomington North at 160 by fall Chambers is an Edgewood kid as well and I will keep you guys updated as much as I can. Again, I appreciate what you guys do and I can't imagine how difficult that job can be. Keep up the good work. It's going to be a great season!
  7. I have a question to ask. Please allow me to preface by saying that I truly understand rankings are simply an opinion. I also understand that they don't mean anything. The only thing that matters is who is on the podium at the end. I get that. But I had a specific question about a ranking. At 160, Koontz from Edgewood started the season ranked 15th. That was a fair ranking based on last year. In the first quad dual of the season, he bumped to 170 for the first two rounds. He won those two matches including one against Deerwester from Terre Haute South. He went 5-0 on the day. He then gets bumped from the rankings the following week. I understand that he didn't wrestle anyone that was ranked at the time. Now, however, Deerwester is ranked 7th at 170. What I don't get is that Koontz is still unranked at 160. I don't want to be one of "those guys," but some insight into the thinking process here would be helpful.
  8. Looks great! Just FYI, Chambers from Edgewood is staying at 182 this year. Don't know how that will affect rankings moving forward but thought you should know.
  9. Simple solution: wrestlebacks. I understand the concern for time and resources, but it is truly the only way to absolutely know who the top four really are in a given tournament.
  10. 3 mats is not enough for a ten-team sectional tournament
  11. Thank you for responding. I was getting frustrated.
  12. Okay, am I the only one that doesn't like the new website? And am I the only one that can't get the individual rankings page to come up?
