  1. The DAC Conference Tournament will be streamed live tomorrow for anybody that can not make it. Check lakecentralnews.com or twitter @LCHSnews in the morning for the link.
  2. No, I am sure they will, that is the sectional setup
  3. Not sure about EC. That is something we (LC) do not have, however with the new facilities nobody we havent really screwed around with the lighting situtation, so who knows what the possibilites are. If we were to host Semi-state, I think we could arrnange for something to be installed so that something similar to Merrillville.
  4. Yea, we would not be able to use the east side bleachers for the first two rounds but we would be able to use the north and south side bleachers, which hold a large amount of people. I think that there would be plenty of seating for the first two rounds even without using the east side. I believe there would still be more space then Merrillville's setup for the first two rounds.
  5. Correction- LC's gym holds 4200, and that does not include standing room. The north and south sides have adequate standing room for more people. I am sure EC will do a great job running the tourney. My only argument was the food, entertainment and hotel options that LC has around its school.
  6. The wrestling room is attached to the main gym, so that would be an ideal place to warm up
  7. It seats around 3400 and I wouldn't be opposed to hosting it either, more food and hotel choices nearby compared to EC
  8. Russell Gibbs 182 Lake Central is 10-1 and beat Morgan from Portage at the Harvest, I know that it's only for the 6th spot, but I figured I would throw it out there
  9. Hammond Clark is not in it this year, making it 16, should be a lot of good wrestling
  10. There is no way gelen gets touched, hasn't lost or been taken down since the semis of the 2012 state finals, that is a guarantee
  11. Gelen Robinson might not have been the most impressive at state, but i would put him up there for having one of the most impressive seasons, he did not give up a takedown or reversal all season!!!!!
  12. @benni hanna What exactly went down at that match? Never saw it. Gelen was called for an illegal slam, that ended up hurting jarred to where he was unable to wrestle. Him and his coaches made the noble decision to take an inj def and let gelen advance, knowing he might not be able to compete anymore and that gelen did not forcefully slam him on purpose. Both Jarred and his coaches came up to gelen and us coaches after the match and shook our hands and said it wouldnt be right to take the fft. By far the best example of sportsmanship I have ever witnessed and jarred and his coaches deserve the upmost respect..
  13. Gelen might not be as technically sound as sliga but the weight difference is huge. Gelen is been right on at 220 every week and usually comes into practice monday at 230, so he is not a small 220 (if you seen him you know hes not small haha). Gelen is as strong as an ox and would have 25 pounds on him. Having said that, Gelen's drive, endurance and confidence are at their peak right now, and I think at his current condition he would not give up a major, and I would argue if they wrestled 10 matches, he would win at least half. Its hard to take him down and its damn near impossible to ride him out. Would be a very interesting match/series.
  14. I agree he should be at least top 20, but he has no time with football, wrestling and track to compete in anything nationally, and yes he did get screwed last year. He has moved on though and is looking to become a 2 timer!!!
  15. Yea Brassea did end up getting beat pretty good after that blast doubling to steveson's back (final was 19-11 and last takedown for the major was in the last seconds). neither here nor there brassea was injured at dac with an arm injury and just wrestled for the team. i will say i am looking forward to calumet regional sopko, steveson, brassea, should be a battle!!
  16. thanks again for the input, hope you have a FINE day
  17. Wasn't complaining, so obviously reading comprehension isn't in your forte either, merely observing and asking a question, but thanks for the clarification, did't see the fine print
  18. Not saying that lake central deserves to be in the top 20, but not sure why hanover central made an appearance at #19 and south bend clay is still up there, when lake central beat south bend clay in a duel at the munster super duels and won the lake county championship ahead of hanover central?
  19. Gelen Robinson still undefeated at 220
  20. new prarie did wrestle tough, but lake central also had 6 jv wrestlers in their starting line-up
