  2. Coaches, the girls must be a member of your high school team and the head coach must register your athlete. The head coach or your asst. coach must represent them on the mat as their coach. Your female wrestler must have 2 weigh-ins before the Regionals Jan 5th. In order to get 2lbs, they must have one scratch weigh in prior to Jan. 1 2018.
  3. Go to our web page and look for updates on Girls State. IHSGW.net. There you can register your girls and get up to date info on locations and times.

  8. Here's where we stood last year and going forward. We want one of the wrestling coaches from the high school to accompany and register the girls and represent that school. This is done for the safety of all the girls. Yes to your question it is open to all girls in high school.Thank you for that question. Thank you for the well wishes it is a huge team effort and well thought out to the tiniest detail to match the rules of the IHSAA. Your girls will be charged by the IHSAA 2pts for Reginals and State combined. Listen, if you have girls that want an even shot at a state title then this is it. It was a huge success last year and we look to double the numbers this year. The tourney is all class. Gary Myers IHSGW P.S Penn High School Womens Team won the title last year with Hamilton Heights as Runner-ups.
  9. Attention All High School Wrestling Coaches!!! Wrestling season is just around the corner so start thinking about getting your girls ready. We will once again be having the Indiana High School Girls State Fnals Series. Continue to watch for more information. Gary Myers IHSGW
  10. I absolutely agree. Southport was one of the schools I have been mentioning. I used to watch the Boys State Wrestling Championships there in the 70's perfect place.
  11. Ok, the dates are as follows. Regionals for the North and South will be Jan 5th 2018. State will be the following week Jan 12th 2018. Locations will be announce shortly. Thank you for the inquiry. Gary Myers
  12. Hamilton Heights Riley White signs scholarship offer from head coach Tom Erikson Lyons College in Arkansas. Riley who ended his high school career with a record of 129-21 is projected to wrestle at 141lbs.
  13. Don Heintzelman 132lbs 16-2 State Champ 1981. Tore up his knee early in the year and came back and had some crazy wins to win state. That was the first year they implemented the 3rd place guy going to state and he and Tony Johnson from Muncie Southside were in the conso finals and TJ was UP 6-1 and Tony shot with mere seconds left on the clock and got coffin called and put on his back to tie it up and go into over time were Don won. Then in the very final match of the state Don wrestled Tim Walsworth from Chesterton and was down 14-2 and started a comeback and Don ties up the score and pins Tim in the third period to win the state.
  14. Hamilton Heights Family will say a pray for both of these young people. Caoch Gary Myers
  15. Didn't Tim Wrestle for Delta in the 70;s
  16. To this day I still believe that David Palmer was the best high school wrestler to ever come out of Indiana. He blew his knee out his first year in college and we never got to see him become even greater. I was on David's team the first 2 years in high school before he transferred to Delta. Dave's Soph year he broke his back in a car wreck and still came back and won the state. I think before its done I say Mason is the best period.
  17. Well if I may say so myself this was just last Friday at Girls State. Hamilton Heights parents cooked for 120 ref, managers, and coaches and it was straight out of a chefs dream.lol
  18. Sorry about the Eastern Double posting I tried to fix that but couldn't figure it out. Maybe a moderator can fix that.
  19. Delta had 4 state champs in 81' Senior Chris Campbell State Champ at 126lbs, Senior Don Heinzelman 132lbs State Champion Senior Greg Gadbury State Champion at 155lbs and Junior David Palmer State Champion at 167lbs Senior Chris Ruble 4th at 112lbs and Senior Doug Campbell qualifier at 119lbs so they sent 5 seniors that year not 6. My mistake but what I memory for an old guy I still have.lol
