Fatmanroller, tell your teammates, GREAT job at Regionals. We were watching, via trackwrestling, and I am so proud of Dylan. Took out what the #1 seed from Jeff? Awesome job. Anything can happen on any given day. And as I see it wrestling is 95% mental. If you think you aren't going to win, you won't. We will see what happens this weekend. I look for a few upsets in the ticket round. I know the Richmond Regional guys have it in them to make it through. But I'm not on the mat so it's convincing them they can do it. The draw is what it is. They all know who they have and I'm positive they know what they need to work on this week to get the job done. I'm thankful we have the extra help in the room this week and I know it'll show Saturday.

You should also put next to those in red if they were conference champ, sectional champ, etc. RTC has tremendouslyhelped a lot of these guys/girls.

I agree, Milan is looking very good. As a matter of fact, there are a lot of very good wrestlers from the Franklin County Sectional. The problem is that you have a few from each school and not a bunch in each weight class. Wouldn't it be something to get all of these guys together a few times a week in the off season to practice? Think what they could do next year. We all know that is how the Perry's/NewPal's/Warren's and so on get it done. I am sure they all attend Red Cobra in the off season. I will also tell you this, if you can get your wrestlers to Connersville's open mats, go. Coach Jerry is amazing with the kids. He has wrestlers come from 50 miles away to attend. They go hard every practice and get so much better each time, due to the fact he is so good and they have great competition. I know it would be a haul for Milan but it is well worth it. Maybe the area coaches should all get together and have 5 open mats a week at each school. Something like; Batesville-Monday, EC-Tuesday, Connersville-Wed, FC-Thursday, Milan-Friday. This would also make it good for someone who can't attend Monday, they know they can make it to Tuesday's. Imagine how much better our area could compete against the larger schools that have 2 varsity teams and 3 JV teams. The Orschell boy - depends on which Orschell you are referring to. Phillip Orschell at 132? Phillip is a Senior, he wrestled Westerfeld from BA in the championship match. Phillip is a great wrestler, leader and all around good kid. He has heart, drive and determination. I would definitely not count him out for a Regional title. Or Josh Orschell at 182? Josh placed 3rd at 182. As I see it, he gave Hittle from Rushville a good run for his money in the semi's. Josh is a Junior so he will have another year. I believe that Josh could go a lot further this year than he's expected to. Both wrestlers have great practice partners and we all know how much that helps. I'd watch out for some upsets come Regionals because both of these boys have it in them to be at the top of the podium Saturday.

The reasoning behind this question is that 4 pts decided team sectional champ. The team that fft'd the first match ended up winning over the team he fft'd too. When this happened in the first round everyone knew why..... for team points..... Just doesn't seem right that a coach would do that for a sectional team win... That's all.... It's teaching kids the wrong way to go about winning.

Hittle (RU) over Shirkey (CO) inj. def. Please pray that Shirkey will be okay. He left in tremendous pain. 3. Orschell (FC) over Bugni (SD) I do not remember score or fall, I had my eyes on Shirkey, hoping he would be okay. 195 1. Harnishfeger (FC) over Cavins (MI) by fall 3. Mitts (EC) over Cisco (SD) 220 1. Moore (EC) over Miller (RU) I believe by dec. 3. Arnold (FC) over Anderson (MI) by fall 285 1. Kirk (LA) over minges (UC) 3. Selm (FC) got third by fall. Do not remember who he wrestled. Need a little help here

This is what I do know. The wrestler in question was ready to wrestle. He and his opponent even chatted about their match during warm ups and both wrestlers were excited to wrestle each other again. They did not fft during morning seeding changes. As the 2 wrestlers were headed out onto the mat the coach pulled his wrestler off the mat and said he would not allow him to wrestle because he did not want him to get injured. He came back to wrestle the rest of the day and did place 3rd. The coach had him fft to the 2nd seed in the first round. I think the question is, should they have allowed him to wrestle the rest of the day? He was obviously not injured because they hadn't even wrestled yet. I would totally understand if he was injured during a match but iced and came back to wrestle an hour later. This was not the case today. He warmed up and was headed out onto the mat when the coach stepped in and would not let him wrestle.

Was told tonight some brackets may change. For example, heard rumor hooten is out at 195 with mono. If this is true, I feel really bad for him because he was a shoe in for semistate. Hate seeing a career end with an illness.

Agreed!!! That was not the only call reversed. Heavyweight, EC vs. SD. They went out of bounds. SD (in my opinion) had the takedown, if you go off of college rules. But the official called them out of bounds. There was arguing with the coaches about it. Official took them back to center and said, "No, takedown" The EC wrestler said something to the official right before he blew his whistle to restart the OT. The official then calls a 2 pt. takedown. All because a wrestler said something to him? Very poor officiating. They did not even remember what calls they had made during matches at the end of each period. I hope they didn't waste to much money on these guys. But then again, paying them at all was a waste of money.

Keep us posted if it gets moved back more or cancelled. Hopefully they'll let you know before your boys head out the door. I'd say you are coming the furthest.

NO CANCELLING, WE'VE ALREADY GOT TEAMS THERE!!!! If you can't make it its a fft.. Lol Just playing.... it was postponed 2 years ago. with the brackets out now, postponing will help some wrestlers after they watch film. Theyll know who they've got and have a few days to brush up on some key moves.
