  1. And there were a couple of them quick pins yesterday JonH. I also noticed a few myself that had themselves in a defensive pin
  2. Same thing with Lee vs Molloy at Evv SS
  3. What's the criteria in the seeding process. I know the 1/4 2/3 concept.
  4. Lee avenges loss to Bethel in a dominating fashion. I liked the pipes and control that Lee showed today instead of the bull in a china shop. Result: 15-4
  5. Seeing Paul Konrath here, yet not in a singlet!
  6. Bethel over Burke 4-2 Lee fall Wilson Williams maj. Beahl 11-3
  7. Elpers(NO) over Clopton(Ca) 8-2
  8. Dillbeck(GS) over Willis(Ca) 5-0 Craig(Re) over Happe(EMD) 6-1
  9. Heres my reasoning:He's lost 2 very close matches to Timberman with one going to overtime. He gave 3X state qualifier 2X placer McCormick possibly his toughest match of the year in a 4-1 loss. He's pinned both Joe and Brayton- both tough as nails to beat by pts let alone PF So, I'd say fundamentally, he's right there. What Joe does have over his opponents, is his tenacity. He comes at you hard and if that can be handled as Timberman and Bethel have done, then Joe's not sitting all alone. Win lose or draw, it's always exciting as a spectator to watch when these guys hit the mat. One never knows what's going to happen.
  10. You probably also didn't see the first one coming either. In my opinion, Bethel is just about on the same level as Joe.
  11. How lopsided had that sectional been in the past several years. EMD fills all 14 weight classes with all 14 advancing on top of multiple champs year in and year out, going against possibly one of the weakest sectionals in the state prior to the realignment this year.
  12. Or, it could be another one sides match as it was with Micic/Lee! There was a lot of talk headed into that match. When the dust settled, there wasn't much talk as Micic put on a clinic and in my opinion, reserved humiliation for the young lad. I'd like to see Lee win this year, but he has a big hurdle in the way.
  13. Looking at the brackets, I have Central with a decisive 34-22 count. I can see Central sectional sweeping 3 weight classes. Here's my take with Centrals #,s being first 106-1,3 113-2,2 120-2,2 126-2,2 132-3,1 138-2,2 145-4,0 152-2,2 160-3,1 170-1,3 182-2,2 195-2,2 Sweep the 220 and big fellas for Central
  14. Brackets are up. Barring some upsets, there's some pretty good semi final matches 113-Horty(Me) vs McKinney(Pr) 120-Miller(NPo) vs Bealmer(Ca) 126-Happe(EMD) vs Craig(Re) Dillbeck(GS) vs Willis(Ca) 132-Clopton(Ca) vs Elpers(No) 145-Bethel(MV) vs Burke(No) 152-Williams(Me) vs Baehl(GS) 170-Dowell(Ca) vs Owens(PC) Thoughts and predictions?
  15. Im not suprised. That weight class is going to be fun to watch.
  16. Whats so different? Lee was a freshman phenom that everyone said he would beat Micic(2x state champ going for his 3rd). It wasn't even close, Micic showed why he was the champ. Now we got Lee and Red. The 3x defending and undefeated state champ is up against Lee. While Lee is not only a national champ, but international as well. Red has won every match he wrestled in the last couple years against some of the nations best. While I'm pulling for the hometown boy. As the great 16X world champ said " to be the man, you have to beat the man" Wooooo!
  17. While I disagree with the not being pumped about the possibility of this match, I must agree with the rest. I say leave the format as it is. There's no need to make all the other wrestlers sacrificial lambs for our own expectations.
  18. I seriously doubt that this even crosses Reds mind. If he didn't want to face the best, don't you think he would've stayed away from Who's #1. Both of these wrestlers are outstanding wrestlers and WE as the fans will get to witness possibly the best match ever in the finale. An international champ against 3x defending and undefeated champ.
  19. Blake Jourdan is going 138. That has Nick at 132 if he's good to go.
  20. Oh I forgot one- Passion award While he wasn't wrestling, Nick Lee is a class act. No one shows more passion and support than this kid. I couldn't help but notice him on the sidelines. While decked out in his warm ups, representing his team, he was so involved in every match where EMD was wrestling. Moving on the sidelines as if he were in the match himself. Then, one of the first ones to meet his teammate after their match. Classy and fun to watch even if he's not on the mat.
