  1. Why not? Class 4A: 32 Teams - 8 Qualifiers Class 3A, 2A & 1A: 90 Teams each - 12 Qualifiers
  2. Wasn't that already done in the above numbers?
  3. I understand that however, adding Tech back into the mix puts Jay at #100 of qualified wrestling schools. With the closures of the a fore mentioned schools and the consolidation of two would then make the total qualified wrestling schools to 302, which should then make the classes at 100/101/101. Now with EMD choosing to move to 3A they would become #100 moving Jay to #101. Am I thinking wrong? If we moved to four classes, which it at the very least should be discussed, its a moot point.
  4. I agree with the guy from Jay County. If you add the three closures to Tech or even half, it brings them to over 3000 students. Close Northwest, Broad Ripple, Arlington, Turkey Run & Rockville, then add Parke Heritage you end up with 302 schools. Cannot make assumptions on Shortridge or Attucks, but past precedence (Muncie) should be followed with Tech. This should divide you to 100 / 101 / 101 , which moves Jay to the 100 slot. However, EMD chooses to move up to 3A which then moves them to 100 and Jay to 101 and the move to 2A. In my opinion due to the ridiculous difference in students from 1 to 100. I would like to see the IHSWCA consider adding another class, although the gap is still large, it makes sense. Class 4A: 32 Teams - 8 Qualifiers Class 3A, 2A & 1A: 90 Teams each - 12 Qualifiers Is it along the same lines what IHSAA does with football? Yes. But the IHSWCA follows the IHSAA in regards to school reconfiguration every two years when the information is available to do so annually. Which even makes more sense as it seems we have closures and consolidations annually.
  5. I think for sure you have to add the numbers to Tech, cant imagine if they add 1700 students they will not have enough wrestlers. Heck, even if only half go to Tech that brings them close to 3000.
  6. The swimming analogy is the best I have ever heard.
  7. What about Northwest? I know at one time they did have a team...a decent program back in the day..but of course I'm old.
  8. If the situation from Arlington, Broad Ripple, Northwest, Turkey Run & Rockville changes team from class to class, the bottom teams of a class should move down. Makes no sense to move the top of 2A up to increase the already ridiculous disparity of 3,944 students from Carmel to Columbia City even larger. I don't know how to fix it, but damn that is a lot of difference in Class 3A from top to bottom. While 2A sits at 507 from top to bottom and 1A at a 384 student difference.
  9. I have been told the Bow and Arrow is illegal to use to turn your opponent , but is legal to secure a pin. Please advise.
  10. I thought the referees did a fine job until the finals and conso finals.
  11. I made the trip to Jay County, what an electric atmosphere that was. I was most impressed with Lykins of JC, although he was a number one seed he looked impressive.
  12. Seen the same thing by a sixth grader at the Delta Folkstyle Open today. Was told it is illegal to turn with a bow and arrow, but was legal to secure the fall. Looked like sour grapes to me yesterday, I actually thought AC should have been deducted a team point as their coach was half way out on the mat.
  13. Mine would be Mason Winner at #10, probably goes in as either a 1 or 2 from FW.
  14. Who are the dark horses (ranked outside of top 8) that could wrestle under the lights?

  16. I agree, I think the exciting thing about this sectional is actually in the wrestle backs. In regards to the team race those matches will be big, as well as bonus points in those matches. Its not like the Delta sectional where one team is going to have at least half the champions and run away with the team title.
  17. I don't think Frasher at 182 is a one seed, like you said yourself. You don't see many upsets as far as champs go. I do think most 1's will win.
  18. 106 - Miller (SA) 113 - Zadylak (NW) 120 - Moser (AC) 126 - Lawson (Bel) 132 - Perry (SW) 138 - Fiechter (SW) 145 - Mounsey (BLF) 152 - Macklin (AC) 160 - Winner (JC) 170 - Friedt (Bel) 182 - Frasher (JC) 195 - Lykins (JC) 220 Hare (JC) 285 - Cuellar (SA) Team: JC , AC, Bellmont
  19. Should be good, AC won the ACAC tournament over Jay in a close race. Lost to Jay 43-25 and Bellmont 43-33 in duals. This should be a close team race, may drive over there to watch this one.
  20. Weight Class Predictions / Team Race Prediction??? Is this the year Jay or Adams Central knock off Bellmont?
  21. Also, finished 4th, behind South Adams, Monroe Central and East Jay at the EJ Invitational last year.
  22. Is this Yorktown's last hurrah??? Does it become more competitive after this year? It would seem numbers are down with the forfeit of three weight classes, graduating a ton of talent, feeder programs at middle school and elementary levels seem to not be as competitive as in years past. Coach McCormick and Coach O'Brien both leaving after this year. Thoughts?
  23. True, but it is done in the NCC...Lafayette to Richmond. Although I am not sure how they handle week day events.
