  1. The airdyne bike and plate workout was always tough, especially when you're competing one on one with Coach Greg Schaefer... the man is a machine and a heck of a wrestling coach!
  2. Wrestling will survive? Whether you like team state or do not like team state that is besides the point. The number 1 thing that you do not understand is that wrestling just lost something that was their own. And when wrestling loses ground on something (like college programs being dropped because of lack of support, funding, Title IX, etc.) it is very likely we will never get it back. Wrestling isn't like football and basketball programs that make a bunch of money and the programs are never in danger to get dropped. Before you know it one day wrestling may not be surviving anymore, and it's because of people who can't or won't see the big picture and are not doing what's in the best interest of the sport and the kids involved.
  3. John is a sophomore 125 pounder at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. He's doing really well there. I can't wait to get my Bucknell wrestling gear in the mail next year ;D Congratulations Paulie you're the man!
  4. Typo.... Danville HS is on the west side of indy in case no one knows where it is at. Call or email Coach P if you have any questions!
  5. Hey Magellan, Danville is on the west side of Indy... you should let your assistant coaches proofread your writing before you post.
  6. On October 8-9 Alex Dolly will be in CIA's room to run a camp. Coach Dolly is currently a Michigan State Assistant Wrestling Coach and 2011 World Place Winner. We are really excited about having a World-Class athlete in the room for the weekend. This will be a great tune up for anybody going to Super 32/preseason nationals. This camp is open to the public, but email or call first. Our website is updated with the camp flyer. www.wrestlingcia.com

  8. All 3 of their meetings have been in folkstyle. Cottey beat Davis in a dual meet in December 6-0. Davis beat Cottey 3-2 at Team State. Cottey beat Davis by 6 or 7 points at Disney Duals.
  9. Jacob Cottey from PM earned an All American finish this summer in Fargo, by beating Tyrone Klump from PA (ranked #9 by themat.com usaw rankings) and Aaron Dick from MN(ranked #7 by themat.com usaw rankings). He beat Kyle Norstrem from FL (ranked #1 by themat.com usaw rankings) at Cadet Duals this summer. He also owns a victory over Noah Teaney (currently ranked #11 by The Open Mat, #18 by Intermat). Jacob lost round to go at semi state as a freshman to the eventual high school state champion. He is 2-1 lifetime against Zack Davis from Penn who is ranked #12 on this list, with a convincing 9-3 win at Disney Duals in June. In my opinion he deserves to be on the top 20 list of 10th graders, because of the quality of people he has beaten the past 2 years.
  10. CIA will have Alex Dolly in the room to run a camp on October 8-9. We are excited about having Alex in the room, this will be a great tune up for kids competing at Super 32 or Preseason Nationals and gearing up for the high school season. More details to follow!
  11. I want to take this post to congratulate current Michigan State University assistant wrestling coach, Indiana native, and my friend Alex Dolly on finishing 9th in the World Championships at 84kgs! I know he is not satisfied, but this is a huge confidence booster for him having a very strong showing against the best the world has to offer. He finished with a record of 2-1, lost his match to the Japan guy in 3 periods.... if he could have pulled out that W there would have been a good chance he finishes with a top 6 finish and qualifies his weight for the 2012 Olympics. Hopefully Big Al can get his weight qualified this next year so he can compete in London in 2012. Congratulations all of your hard work and sacrifice is paying off, you've made us all proud man. Now the world knows.... "You can't stand on the tracks when the A-Train is coming through"
  12. Coach P is right we have had an awesome summer, and the hard work is paying off so far out here in Fargo. And we have also learned this summer that the "Terry Tate Office Linebacker" commercials are the best ever!
