  1. That is a young man who will go far in this world. As I told my son's wrestling wether you are state champ or the worst wrestler on the team when you finish you high school career you will be a better man.
  2. Elkhart Memorial 65 Northridge 7 Elkhart Memorial finishes the season 17-0
  3. I agree this is the kind of info I would have loved to have when I was wrestling. I have always been taught to attack the tape/injury.
  4. 5. This proud American offers his thanks to these young men. I joined the Army right after school in 87 no thoughts of going into combat. The young men and women who join now plan on going into harms way. God Bless them all.
  6. I knew that I remember watching you wrestle in high school and ref, you weren't too bad. Just giving you a hard time. See you at the Sectionals.
  7. Yes, you can go up becuase you clearly met the weight requirement. As for the individual who said it is no the refs responsibility I agree, coaches are there for weigh ins and they need to keep or their appointed person of who weighed in where.
  8. The same school tried it the following year, they tried to wrestle one of the coaches kids up to go around our best wrestler. The one kid was supposed to weigh in at the lower weight but did not. After the Memorial coach caught it, and protested it, the ref again ruled against the other school. This time they only argued about 10 min before the Memorial coach said go ahead and wrestle the illegal wrestler. The illegal wrestler got stuck quickly. Then the coaches boy was getting ready to go on the mat. Last thing the coach said was "you have to pin". Well the coaches son won but by a 3-1 score. And they still lost the match. I spoke to the ref afterwards he stated that the call a weight then announce it is being closed and then call the next weight class. If you dont weigh in at the lower weight you can't wrestle down however you can wrestle up.
  9. As will Elkhart Memorial and Elkhart Central, as I would guess any cross town rivals will.
  10. I know he did not wrestle his last match but Davis Lawernce from Jimtown looked like a whole different wrestler over the last two days then he did at the Charger invite. Just wanted to make sure that I said so, as I am sure some people thought I had a problem with him.
  11. Good for him, again not trying to insult him, just trying to figure it out. Wish him and all wrestlers best of luck.
  12. Absolutely no beef with the young man, just keep seeing him get pointed out in the AL Smith post, and he is not ranked at semi state, so I just was wondering where/ what the thought process is for this. I thought maybe he was hurt and wrestling injured at the Charger invite or if there was someone else that I did not know about, as in a different wrestler then who I was thinking. I just trying to get a idea on the comp. Again please don't think I have any problem with the young man, just curious.
  13. Is this "the Lawrence" from Jimtown? If so I not seeing what the deal is with him. I finished 6th a the Charger Invite, did not appear to be all that impressive that day.
  14. Ok, I guess that makes sense except for the fact that two of the wrestlers who placed above him aren't on the watch list. Just a question it, he is the only wrestler at 170 with HM beside his name. Was wondering if you all knew something the rest of us don't.
  15. 170-HM-Lawrence Davis-12-Jimtown Not sure about this one, he finished 6 th at the Charger Invite, behind 3 wrestlers that are at this tournament.

  20. Watch this happen all the time, and it has for years. Nothing more frustrating then being in a tight match and starting to gain some ground only to have a "lung injury" time out. Everyone can see what is going on, it's not hard to see. But watch it happen other ways like when a wrestler gets a small lead then rides for a full two minutes, never coming off the hips, or doing more then pushing on one side then to other but not really trying to turn your opponet. The side part about that it's usually the bottom man who get the call for stalling. But as long as the coaches don't train their wrestlers and let them get away with it, it will continue to happen. As for putting in the officials hand to determine whether the wrestler is really having difficulty breathing from asthma or just needs to get a break is not fair to them. I work as a paramedic and have responded to many difficulty breathing calls that weren't, and all of my 20+ years of medical training tells me they are full of it, I won't tell someone that they are not having difficulty breathing and will treat them as if the are.
  21. Well put, I if I moved my kids for Academics I probably would not be worried about them playing sports. As great as the sport of wrestling is for the growth of a young man, a high school education is way more important to a child possibility of success in his adult life.
  22. You are doing a good job here, so please don't take this as a complaint, but how often are you planning on updating the rankings? Just curious.
