#1 seed, and not wrestled all year?

When the last time you've seen a twin brother wrestle another twin brother, and then the other twin brother wrestles another twin brother?? could happen at state this year at 145 and 152, Welch boys and LeFever boys

Busse was seeded second at Conference. they wrestled off after and ben baker filled 89 at conference.

as far as i know there was to be another wrestle off this week to determine who will fill the 89 spot for individual sectionals.

12/14...missed 2 and the team runner up...ill take a "wahoo"

After its all said and done today, i wanted to say kudos to Brooks Faurote. Wrestled awesome all day with basically one hand. Clearly the hand bothering him in the finals but still pushed the pace and kept going after it. Great wrestler and an even better kid, wish him the best luck in the upcoming weeks!

You make an exceptional point.and again i believe that is how the seeding scenario plays out. But after you put it into perspective like that it does make a lot of sense to have him keep that seed. Regardless i've always felt this has been one of Bellmonts Trademarks...having a weight class so deep that a 2nd or 3rd string kid can step up and make a huge impact and make a run deep into the state series.

Yes im almost positive that is what happens. Because Busse had a #2 seed, and now with baker replacing him the #3 seed and #4 seed bump up and the replacement slides to a #4

The semi finals will be very interesting now! Raypole vs Baker in the semis rather than the finals...could be a decent point swing

State champions who have won state in 2 or more sports?

Not sure if he won 2x different state titles...but i believe his senior year Nick Corpe Elkhart Memorial was a state champ in wrestling, then was all state in BOTH Baseball and Football as well. -
true, 89 is a toss up, not sure bellmont is "favored". 45 52 and 60 you could say carroll is "favored". I feel there will be either a bellmont or carroll guy or mabey both in the finals from 45 on up

Because its held in the new (huge)carroll gym...which i think by IHSAA Rules, carroll gets 20 extra points to begin with...i believe??
