Are you saying add 250 between 215 and your proposed unlimited weight class? I prefer the 14 weights above as it would keep more weight classes towards the middle of the bell curve as opposed to adding new ones at the tail ends. Agree with your bell curve logic but this proposal only impacts the heavier tail. Staying at 14 with this, there is no impact to small wrestler tail (106 - 138 unchanged), benefit to middle of curve, and leaves less room for a spot for the big guys. And I don’t just mean HWT. Agree we should NOT want less weight classes. Agree you have to consider bell curve. Just stinks for the bigger wrestlers above 165 that they are the only tail impacted. Just not sure why they couldn’t trim a few pounds on both tails. Sadly average weight in the world is increasing and not decreasing (which will impact Bell) so this offers less opportunity for football converts, etc. Edited February 14, 2023 by Lawdiggity Spelling

Personally, I'd like to see a 245/250 in place of one of the weights at the lower end of the bracket. There are some really good athletes who steer away from wrestling because they're in that weird space where they're too light for heavyweight, but don't want to cut a ton of weight to make 215. That would also create a pretty obvious path to college wrestling (basically the bottom 3 weights go to 125, top 3 go to heavyweight, with a handful of the 215'ers potentially choosing to drop to 197). There has been tons of athletes wrestling around 245-250 that dominate at heavy weight. Gable, Parris, Cassioppi, Kerk, Cassar, etc.
