Devils27
This post is not intended to embarass anyone, just wanted some answers. At the Merrillville semi-state there were 2 forfeits to start the day one was to Jason Tsirtsis and the other was to Graham Redweik of Caston. Why were these matches forefeited? Just curious because I'm sure someone would have liked to have that spot.

MattM
More than likely an alternate at the competition was not available or on weight.

allritecoach
The story with 145 was that the first round match for Tsirtsis was that Ringen injury defaulted last week. Tried to practice all week with hopes of being able to wrestle, but the decision was made that morning to not wrestle. At weigh-in time Coach Burvan notified them that he was unable to wrestle. Logansport had the alternate with, had him cut weight to make weight and at the end of 145 weigh-ins the Logansport wrestler reported to weigh-in and was told they didn't need him. Later at the coaches meeting it was announced that it was a forfiet, and Coach Patacsil said that he was informed they didn't need him. They said that they would weigh him in after the meeting, but P-tac said he would more than likely be over, and when he did weigh-in he was two pounds over. The officials weighing them in made a huge mistake. Even though the kid was more than likely going to lose, he lost a chance to wrestle at Semi-state against one of the best wrestlers to ever come out of Indiana. I had a wrestler that wrestled Howe four years and we still talk about it.
kevinl
One at 113 to Phillips in Fort Wayne. One of the Carroll Regional wrestlers did not make weight and the alternate was eating donuts and drinking chocolate milk. If you are an alternate you gotta come ready. The donuts will wait until AFTER weigh ins.
naf nedleif
Alternate at Fort Wayne was ready. He started eating about 15 minutes AFTER weigh-ins were completed with no announcement or notification that there was a wrestler overweight.
