Briar Runyan is the next in a line of Martinsville wrestlers that have moved from wrestling to serving their country. Briar Runyan (2006-2009). Currently undefeated and ranked first at 160 lbs. Runner-up at 152 as a junior State Qualifier at 152 as a sophomore Has just accepted an appointment to the West Point Military Academy. He follows: Eli Myers (1998-2001). Eli was a two time State qualifier (103-112) with a varsity record of 100-17. He holds the school record of 38 consecutive wins. Eli was appointed to West Point in 2001. Richard Neal (1986-1989). Richard was the 145 lb IHSAA State Champion in ?89. He served in the Marine Corp. from 90 to 93. All-Marine Corp. 92-93. All-American at the US Open in ?91. All-American at the University Nationals in ?92. ?AND NOW YOU KNOW THE REST OF THE STORY? So when you are going south on Ind. 37 make sure you stop at Ind. 37 and Ind. 252 and salute.
