CLINTON, INDIANA - The South Vermillion Wrestling Team hosted the annual South Vermillion 8-Way Invitational on Saturday, January 10th. The South Vermillion Wildcats finished the day in third place behind West Vigo and Sullivan. The Vikings of West Vigo were crowned tournament champions outscoring the Golden Arrows of Sullivan by thirty-eight points. South Vermillion’s senior, Tanner Smith was named the “Most Valuable Wrestler†for the tournament by the head coaches.
The team results were West Vigo (Champion) with 271 points; runner-up Sullivan with 233 points; South Vermillion with 203 points in third place; Covington with 166 points in fourth place; North Vermillion with 112.5 points in fifth place; in sixth place was Turkey Run with 82.5 points; in seventh place, Rockville with 67 points; and Cloverdale with 54 points in eighth place.
