  1. 2 from New Albany wrestling club on the way as we speak, anyone else have any wrestlers going?
  2. Just wanted to take a minute and wish all our Indiana boys the best of luck at Pre-Season Nationals. Show 'em Indiana has the best wrestlers in the country boys!
  3. Randall Lynch - Head Coach Scribner Middle School
  4. I have a 7th grader, 118 lbs. What did you have in mind? We may be interested.
  5. Considering Bailey was wrestling 120 at the end of season, I find it very hard to believe he could make 106, 112 is doubtful!
  6. Bailey LaHue Freshman from Corydon! Wrestled 120 last year as an 8th grader, won everything he entered.
  7. Anyone want to rate the top middle school wrestlers in the state? Seems the younger guys never get the attention the high schoolers do.
  8. I think we need a rematch on that 110 Scribner vs. Jennings Co.
  9. I could probably do that, I work nights though and makes it difficult. I live New Albany, right across the river from Louisville, KY. Any suggestions on year round clubs within an hour from me? By the way, thank you for the advice.
  10. Just had a quick question for all the coaches out there. My son is by no means the best wrestler in the state, he hasn't won any major tournaments, but he is very talented and what he's learned and accomplished has been from mat time and little to no help from anyone local. He won his weight class county championships here in southern Indiana, and he's 10-3 in his first year of middle school. My question is? When, as a coach, you see a kid with lots of potential, doing really well coming up out of elementary school, do you ever take time to work with them to benefit your program down the road? For 2 years I have been trying to get local coaches to help or work with my son in the off season, or when they had some time. Am I asking too much here? The state of wrestling here in southern Indiana is embarrassing and quite a disappointment.
  11. Sounds good coach, I may give you a call. Tristin is 11, 100lbs. this will be his 3rd year of wrestling, first year of middle school. He wrestles Novice 100 in ISWA.
  12. I would be more than willing to drive that far if it would benefit my son Tristin. He's a great kid, he's done great locally here. I apologize, I'm sure I should know who you're with, but I can't remember. Coach Struck is great, we've been to a purdue clinic or two there at Jeff, but wrestling down here is fairly strange, territorial and all. The regional training center was great because kids from all over where there, but as for clubs they kind of frown on a kid from another school wanting to join their club. Like I said, club time we see alot of mat time, just wish we could start alot sooner. Clubs start down here about the first week in Dec. but they just don't do a whole lot for the younger kids.
  13. OK, just a quick question. I'm looking for someone to work with my son one on one or even a small group of kids here or around New Albany Indiana. This is his first year of middle school wrestling, his 3rd year since he started. He's @ 100lbs. and finding open mats and someone for him to work with, or better yet someone to teach him is damn near impossible here right now. I know all the clubs start in about 6-8 weeks but here in southern Indiana even the clubs aren't much on really teaching. I would be more than willing to pay someone, I know there are the CIA's and Hoosier elites but I really don't want to have to drive 1-2 hours one way for wrestling practice. Any suggestions would be very, very, much appreciated.
  14. We love to come attend some sessions there, but you are about a 2 hour drive from us, makes it hard to block off 5 - 6 hours (4 hours of driving, 1-2 hours of wrestling) during the week for practice. I appreciate it though!
  15. No one? I have a kentucky high school state champion wrestling in college now waiting to start lessons with my son, would be a great opportunity for any kid.
  16. Just wanted to add one more thing. I met one of the politest, nicest young men I've came across in a long time at a tournament in Tell city and again at State, I apologize if I embarrass him but it was a real honor. His name is Dillon Gray from Corydon, In. Dillon if you read this, we would be honored to have you come work with my son. He is a real blessing to the sport of wrestling!
  17. Looking for someone to drill with my son here in New Albany, In. Preferrably 95-100 lbs for private instruction. Let me know if you may be interested. Thanks, Chad
  18. We're actually in New Albany, right across the river from Louisville, KY. Bloomington would be about an hour or so from us.
  19. What about for Sundays Pee-Wee and Novice kids, most won't weigh in till tomorrow night. Will those brackets be posted too?
  20. Some of us parents have been kicking around the idea of starting a year round wrestling schhool here in Southern Indiana, just wanted to get some input from you guys. You guys up north have the Red Cobras and CIA's, Down here in the South we're limited to small school clubs. Curious to see what kind of interest there may be and if we would have the support needed to get this off the ground. Would love to hear some thoughts from you all.
