  1. I for one will be staying with Indianamat.com. If you visit the other website there is nothing there on their messageboard. I did find some very graphic pictures a couple weeks ago that have since been removed. They need to step their security up or get rid of their messageboard all together.
  2. I say MAKE the girls wrestle the boys. There is no need for girls wrestling in Indiana or any other state for that matter. Women fought for many years to have equal rights with men, give them what they want. If they want to compete in a predominently male sport then I say let them. But give them no special priviledges. (Except for locker rooms) If a girl is good enough to beat a guy then she deserves to wrestle. Give females NO SPECIAL TREATMENT only EQUAL TREATMENT.
  3. 10-4. Not a bad day, but definately not good enough to win.
  4. it is definately a shame that these two will meet so early. would have made for one hell of a finals match. just goes to show that you can't have an off day in indiana wrestling. i think whoever wins this match will be atop the podium.
  5. No need to apologize. Family always comes first. You did an outstanding job today keeping us updated. I would like to thank you for that.
  6. I am starting to wonder about the Evansville SS. No updates on here in quite some time and no updates on the broadcastsports website either.
  7. nothing to say really, just keeping it up top. Well, three #4 seeds over #1 seeds already...WOW!
  8. I am new to this topic of class wrestling. I know that other sports in Indiana have classes, but of those sports how many are individual sports come tournament time? I just don't understand how you can class schools based on enrollment. If a school has 1000 students but only 20 of them participate in wrestling, they could be in a different class than a school that has only 500 students with 40 participating in wrestling. Just because a school has more students doesn't mean that they are all going to participate in sports. If you are to class wrestling then you should look at the number of participants from the last 8 years (just a number, could be any number of years) and class them based on participation in the sport. I will say that I am not for class wrestling personally, but I do understand where people are for it are coming from.
  9. Good Luck to Castle High School at Team State. You have the support of this southerner.
  10. I have heard on here that Kolb is out of semi state now. Another poster said that it wasn't drug or alcohol related which is awesome. Whatever the reason, which is of no concern of mine, I wish him the best of luck. Bad way to end an otherwise successful season. I see he is listed as a junior so hopefully he will be back next year. Does anybody know who his alternate is?
  11. 119- I am going to say Raley over Johns in a very close match. (Could really go either way) 130- I am gonna go with a Bloomington South Regional Final rematch with Barlow winning over Richey. (However I do think that Barlow will have a though semi-finals match with Seitz. He is looking real good since coming back from a football injury.) 152- This is going to be a very intersting weight class to watch in my mind. You have Stein(41-0), Fudurich(33-0), Reese(31-3), Kolb(29-1), and Sampson(44-2). There are going to be some fun quarterfinals and semi finals matches here I think. I am going to say Kolb over Stein in the finals. (If not Stein then I would have to say Kolb over whoever wins the top portion of the bracket) Toss up. kolb is out. I see that now. Thanks. He wasn't out when I made my predictions, so now I guess I will have to go with Stein over Reese at 152 since Reese would be taking Kolbs spot. Possible Stein vs Fudurich in the semis should be a great matchup.
  12. That sounds right. Jordan Mann from Castle was the last non-placing individual beaten by the champion.
  13. Well that is good to know. In this case, if what I am hearing is correct, when could we expect to see changes on to the bracket. Because anybody could get on here and say that so and so is not wrestling.
  14. any way we can resubmit a semi state? 152 for evansville SS just had a major change from what I hear. Changes outcome quite a bit IMO. Just curious.
  15. I will agree that there have been some pretty nice articles this year, compared to the past couple years. Whatever happen to the wrestling honor roll that was released once a week? It makes me sick when there is more coverage for girls BB than there is for wrestling. I have already informed the C&P that once my subscription is up not to renew me. It is just as easy to read the news on the internet.
  16. On Indianamat.com homepage for the Merrillville SS the following is listed... 112 Crown Point should crown their first of several semi-state champions at this class. Anthony Hawkins has beaten many of the state?s best and is heavily favored to claim the top spot on the podium this year. The best ticket round matches should pit Rochester?s Garth Simpson versus Calumet regional champ Danny Rodriguez of Highland and Robert Floyd of Delphi taking on Brandon Coppinger of Portage. The Big Kahuna #1 Anthony Hawkins - Crown Point - Junior (34-0) Conseco Bound Garth Simpson ? Rochester - Sophomore (43-4) #13 Brandon Coppinger ? Portage - Sophomore (35-7) Alex Gregory ? Penn - Sophomore (29-4) Bracket Busters Robert Floyd ? Delphi - Senior (14-3) Danny Rodriguez ? Highland - Sophomore (29-6) My question is, according to the brackets Coppinger and Gregory would met in the quarterfinals, meaning one of them would not be Conseco Bound. Am I looking at something wrong here?
  17. Griffith 01-02 Escobedo Tsirtsis 02-03 Escobedo Hernandez Tsirtsis 03-04 Escobedo (Jose) Escobedo (Angel) Hernandez Tsirtsis Mater Dei only had two years in a row. If not for 01-02 they might have had 4 in a row. 00-01 Craig Weinzapfel Blake Maurer Allen Weinzapfel 01-02 Blake Maurer (This is the year that got them, they only had one champion) 02-03 Craig Weinzapfel Dustin Nosko Sam Wildeman Blake Maurer 03-04 Matt Coughlin Blake Maurer Griffith is the only other team I could find since 1980 that had 3 years in a row with multiple champions. Mishawaka could definately one up them this year.
  18. This would be an interesting Pick em's. ROUND 1 Mishawaka over Cathedral Crown Point over Roncalli Perry Meridian over Bellmont Castle over Delphi ROUND 2 Mishawaka over Crown Point (Worth price of admission to see this match up alone) Perry Meridian over Castle FINALS Mishawaka over Perry Meridian Not sure if they wrestle the Semi Finals losers for third or not...but if they do then... Crown Point over Castle

  20. I am going to have to say Individual State. There is nothing more rewarding than knowing that you, and only you hold your fate in your hand. You either win and advance to the next day or lose and go home. If you are fortunate enough to place there is no better feeling (in my mind) than standing on that awards podium knowing that all of your hard work finally paid off. At Team State, you can lose every match you wrestle but if your team wins then you keep advancing.
  21. I think that we could have a very good overall showing from this semi-state. As for champions, I would say the best shot coming out of Evansville SS is Briar Runyan @ 160.
