The Hoosier Elite Wrestling Academy is taking three teams (Elementary, Middle School, and High School) to the Ohio Tournament of Champions in Columbus Ohio. These three teams are the only teams from Indiana that will be competing at the OTofC. This is our second year competing in the team tournament. The weigh-ins will take place on Friday April 23rd, the individual tournament is on Saturday April 24th, and the team tournament is on April 25th. We have filled spots with Academy wrestlers that want to go. We are now opening up the remainder of the spots to the rest of Indiana. below you will find the current rosters for the three teams. If you see a weight class you would like to fill please contact me via email at LMIRACLE20@MSN.COM as soon as possible. Information you need to know before you sign up is below. You can also go to www.ohiotofc.com for more information. You must enter the individual tournament to be eligible to compete on a team in the team tournament. Go to www.ohiotofc.com and follow the step by step instructions to do this. They must receive your entry by April 14th. I recommend completing your application this week. If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask. The individual weight classes may differ slightly from the team weight classes. When you weigh in on Friday the 23rd it will count for both weigh-ins as long as you have your individual weigh in card with you. You obviously must make the lower of the weights. They are ranking each team according to the individual results. They will then put us into pools of similarly ranked teams for the team competition. The cost for the team package is $150. This includes your custom sublimated Hoosier Elite singlet, t-shirt, shorts, Academy training sessions for the month of April, and entry fee into the team event. I totally understand that. If you ever have a group that wants to come up on a weekend or day you guys have off please let me know. I can always puull together 10-15 kids last minute for a good hard live practice if I have kids from another area traveling in. You might also be interested in one of our mini camps that we are starting to put together. We will have a guest coach come in on for a Friday evening session then the kids stay the night and swim, watch movies, and hang out just being kids. Saturday morning is early morning run followed by a pancake breakfast. Then we have our Saturday morning session with the same guest coach. The mini camps are great because they are inexpensive, kids have fun, and they get to learn from a different high caliber coach. Just to be clear though, the Hoosier Elite Wrestling Academy practices are normally very tough. They are significantly tougher that a club type practice. The kids currently involved range in experience levels from first year studs to 10 year national caliber type kids. They all have one thing in common though. They all want to work hard and be the best they can be. It is such a great environment for them to excel and it is a refreshing envoronment to coach in. The Hoosier Elite Wrestling Academy has been going for two years now out of Bloomington. It is actually moving to a new facility soon because the room is getting too packed. The room is loaded with talent and offers the Southern Indiana kida a great opportunity to train with kids from all over. There are several state champions that train there and is kind of a hidden secret as it has never been advertised. The Academy trains 11 months of the year taking July off. We are gearing up for freestyle, taking three teams to Ohio Tournament of Champions (Elementary, Middle School, and High School) , and a team to the Disney Duals in June to represent Indiana in the All Star Division. Nice to hear that Edgewood will be there. I hope we get to wrestle them. They have some great kids.

I don't have that information in front of me. I would have thought he would have wrestled for 3rd and 4th. He wrestled Miracle in the Semis and lost 12-4 I believe. Thomas is a scrapper! He is a very strong and aggressive wrester. I think he can surprise some kids.

Miracle is at 130 right now but certified for 125. He won the Capital City Classic on Saturday with a very controlled 6-1 match over Roberts of Beech Grove in the finals. He said that he felt strong at 130 and is thinking he may just stay there.

Hoosier Elite is looking to fill some weight classes for Disney Duals last minute for unexpected drops do mostly to football issues. We have openings at 135, 140, 145, 152, and 171 or 189. We have a kid that can go either or. We are wrestling in the All-Star Division which is extremely tough. Shawn has worked very hard to improve in every aspect of his wrestling. He has lost to three wrestlers this year. Colon three times, Fisher twice, and Devin Jackson once. He has lost big to Colon and Fisher. In all fairness though he was very sick all week, struggled to make weight, and had to dig deep just to wrestle them both on that same day. I believe the following week he lost to Fisher 6-4 and Colon 4-3. Shawn is a fighter and will give everything he has. He has a very methodical style that can beat a lot of wrestlers. His conditioning is excellent and comes in handy in the third period. Francisco Colon is a great kid also who is strong as an ox and has an incredible double leg. Shawn and Francisco respect each other and love the battles they have. Derek Fisher is another great kid who I think is tremendously underated. He has a wiry strength and an amazing scrambling ability. Derek is very good in every position. If he is on he can beat anyone. I think that all three of these wrestlers have a great shot at going to state. I am personally rooting for all three of them as I know them personally and have had the opportunity to coach Derek in the off season and coach against Francisco since Shawn's freshman year. Good luck guys, you all deserve the trip to state.
