  3. Re: Mater Dei ? Reply #41 on: Today at 03:16:21 PM ? Quote -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Quote from: boiler10 on Today at 02:36:59 PM 103 Appel, Lannert - Freshman 112 May, Adler - Freshman 119 Schroeder - Sophomore 125 Henderson - Sophomore 130 Weinzapfel - Sophomore 135 Senior 140 Sims - Sophomore (with a strong Dane Maurer as freshman reserve) 145 Senior 152 Senior with a strong freshman reserve (Brandenstein) 160 Senior 171 Boots - Sophomore 189 - HVY Seniors MD has a few holes to fill in the upper weights but this is a young team overall. Plus they have a decent group of 8th graders this year. I agree. MD had a very young team this year, and those young boys performed quite well throughout the season, so they'll be back next year with another year of Varsity competition under their belts. Also, the JV team has some solid talent throughout, and as you mentioned, the 8th graders coming in next year show a lot of strength. And, another thing that hasn't been mentioned, but begs to be said (I think), is that MD is graduating those, what I call "transition" kids. What I mean by that is that some kids have trouble adjusting to different coaching styles. The kids next year will have had Schaefer for their wrestling coach the whole time and I think that does make a difference. 8th graders coming up: 189 - Wright ( he is a Boots) 4rd at MSST in 195 Hwt - Schapker (1st year wrester ) 7th at MSST in 195 140 - Schneider 2nd at MSST 150 - Schoettlin - 3rd at MTTS Schroeder, Collins, Parkinson, and Staggs all had tough brackets, but thats what makes you better and stronger and thats just the ones who could go! so as Matchick said so the future looks good with a great group of up and comning kids and their great coackes that they had this year. you'll remember thier names -- Mackes and Martin
  4. final match didnt go off till way later than 7:30 we left at 7 and they hadnt even started the final 4 for any weight class. Folks you need to think 2 days or satelites : 1 you will get more wrestlers. 2 it will be more enjoyable and you dont have to worry about school on Monday. We didnt get back to the SW corner till way after 1 am Eastern time. and yes he had school today. you need to plan for school then if they dont have it EVERYONE should be happy. by the way THE HOSTS and Staff were GREAT thanks to All of them!
  5. brackets are now listed on track wrestling for all but 3 lightest weights
  6. EVSC, warrick, posey for sure probably most of the southern border counties from the ice storm last week.
  7. your right mtv but that still means we wont get home till well after midnight , when the kids all have school the next day! there needs to be a better sloution - I still say 4 or 5 satellites - 1 in INDY and one each in the other 4 corners all coming together for the championships . Even if you took the top 6 in each weight class that is only 30 per weight class and 32 person brackets. and in some of this weekends brackets there aren't that many listed now. that would cut 7 brackets down and make them more managable. still alot of kids but not as bad. even if you did just 3 satellites that makes it better all the way around.
  8. We will see how this works with preregistration but I think that everyone is going to see this thing has grown way to big to either need to go 2 days or several regionals one weekend and Championships the next . if it goes too large and to late it will start making people NOTwanting to go because of this problem. especially if you have to drive far. After all there is school/work on Monday.
  9. Add Evansville Mater Dei to the list we are bringing our team
