  1. At 130, Hoehn of Mt. Vernon handily defeated both Brown of Castle and Kelley of Central today. I think he majored both.
  2. That's how I remembered him until he did the Ev. Central sectional a couple of years ago. In fact, when he told me who he was, I didn't believe him. Said he lost a lot of weight.
  3. Oh, man.....gonna leave us hangin'....... :'(
  4. Not that it matters, but who is officiating? Just curious.
  5. Zenthofer was the one I was thinking about. And, yes, Mallory and Scott were the other two. Like Matchick said, what depth. Who was MD's 160 lber. that year? Apparently, Mallory couldn't beat him, either.
  6. It wasn't Nosko. I remember that happening but can't remember the kid's name, either. I think he grew too many wt. classes to make varsity. I also remember a JV kid from MD placing 5th (I think) after the varsity guy blew out a knee earlier in the year. Kite, maybe, was one of the names but don't remember which one he was.
  7. Blake is indeed an asst. coach at Jasper High School.
  8. He also enters tournaments as a team of 1. He practices travels with St. X. Won the Ev. Memorial tournament earlier this year and finished 2nd at MD Holiday Classic.
  9. lol....man, if we keep lowering this kid's wt. class, he'll be a 12 lber. in a few days!! I agree. He has very good skills, especially for a freshman.
  10. I think Kelley is Central's 135 lber. and shouldn't be overlooked. The kid is a heck of a wrestler. Very smooth.
  11. Sam got beat by the eventual runner-up, Ian Kahl from Trinity, 10-6 in the quarterfinals. Sam came back in the consolation bracket with three pins and 4-1 decision to get 3rd.
  12. What was the confusion? I didn't hear the coach mention anything about it. Does Tennessee give a growth allowance on a different date? Eons ago Indiana gave their's on Christmas Day, which still makes sense to me.
  13. Ruger Kersteins, a freshman from Jasper, beat Turi handily.
  14. They had 3 wrestlers, I think, not make weight. Maybe 4.
  15. Team scores along with 1st, 3rd, and 5th place matches are now posted on the results page.

  17. I'm pretty sure the first round Thursday will be a round of consolations, followed by the championship semi-finals, then another round of consolations.
  18. Nope....Kief won his first match 16-4 and his 2nd by pin.
  19. Lots of good matches on tap for tomorrow's semi-finals. Especially looking forward to the following: 103- Seng (MD) 9-0 vs. Kennedy (Fl. Cen) 16-2 and Lykins (FR) 13-4 vs. Blackwell (Un. Co., KY) 18-1 112- B. Ervin (UC) 19-0 vs. anyone. Outstanding freshman. 125- Henderson (MD) 17-0 vs. G. Ervin (Un. Co.) 15-5 and Dusty Kief (FR) 16-2 vs. John Fahy (Lou. Trinity) 14-2. I think Trinity coach said Fahy's 2 losses were at the Beast of the East. 135- Konrath (MV) 20-0 vs. Kriech (FR) 13-5 and Hitchings (TR) 14-2 vs. Schroeder (MD) 14-2. As at 125, I think Trinity coach said Hitchings's 2 losses were at the Beast of the East. 152- C. Ervin (UC) 12-1 vs. anyone. Ervin makes it look soooooo easy. POTENTIAL championship matches: 119- Wedding (Ev. Mem.) vs. Pettijohn (FR) 140- Honeycutt (Lou. St. X) vs. Lannert (MD) 160- Lampe (Lou. St. X) vs Sims (MD) 189- Sandwith (Ev. Mem.) vs. Boots (MD)
  20. So someone associated with a team not in the tournament can't comment on it? C'mon. If that's true, should Y2 be commenting on it? Is his team in the tournament (maybe it is; I don't know)? How many others shouldn't be commenting on this thread, then. I can tell you at one time the tournament directors told us they wouldn't seed the tournament but would attempt to split wrestlers who were outstanding. What they used as a criteria to determine "outstanding", I have no idea.
  21. Dallas (140) and O'Connell (285) from Mt. Vernon are both pretty decent.
  22. lol.....not when that one is Andy!!!
