  1. I agree that excessive weight loss is unnecessary. However, by cutting a little weight in high school I felt I was was faster and could react better on the mat. I also just seemed to feel better at that lighter weight than when I was heavier during the summer.
  2. The body fat analysis isn't done until close to the beginning of the season. A wrestler could possibly be weak at the beginning of the season because he cut a lot of weight before the body fat test.
  3. I agree IU is very good academically. However, I'm not wrong in what I was said. I was just quoting one study done on such things. Different sources will give you varying rankings. IU and Purdue will always be rivals in athletics and academics. I am just glad we have two fine institutions in Indiana that we can compare, and fight about.
  4. As a current IU student, i disagree with your statement. Purdue is not the place to go for academics unless you are seeking and ag/engineering/nursing degree. IU's kelly school of business is one of the top in the country, and has better liberal arts programs than purdue. I know a lot of current guys on the squad are from Indiana, but i guess my question is about this year...as far as i can tell brooks is the only indiana guy right now who is committed. According to the U.S. News and World Report: Purdue is ranked 66th among all universities in the United States. IU is ranked 71st. IU's business school is not in the top ten of all business schools. Purdue is ranked tenth in engineering. http://colleges.usnews.rankingsandreviews.com/college/index.html
  5. I think this shows that Castle definitely has a shot at the team title!
  6. http://www.ihsaa.org/b-wrestling/2008-09/0809IndividualStateBrackets.htm
  7. And Mater Dei amounts to about half of the 8,562
  8. I'll agree with that..haha great song
  9. Oh god don't even bring up Back in Black.....I think i could sing the words to EVERY song on there and know which song was next. You and I have that in common.
  10. We only had two CDs in our wrestling room to listen to. AC/DC --Back in Black Bob Seger...haha I personally like Lunatic Fringe as well.
  11. Well I'm gonna say it again like I did last week..I think Froehlich from TC will most definitely make some noise.
  12. Jeff hung with MD & Castle @ the Castle 5-way earlier in the year. They've got a shot, but I think Castle will get it done...they've got to be on a total high right now. Hopefully they don't get too over confident.
  13. Does Jeff have any chance against Castle?
  14. My bad.. I wasn't there and I just assumed he won because he only had one loss there and I figured he lost to Robison and beat Ruggeri. My mistake.
  15. What happened during their match at the rotating tourney? Maybe I was wrong about that match. And I don't think its unrealistic at all to think he can beat Ruggeri. I guess will we have to agree to disagree.
  16. I just wish I could be there to watch it!!
  17. Those are some questionalble predictions? 1. Lawilan - He's got a shot but the kid from Memorial is tough 2. Kast - Has to get by a very good Zach Wolf from Harrision 3. Flyn - I somewhat agree with this Flyn is older and has a shot to beat a Freshmen. Should be a good match up the kid from Mt. Vernon is tough. 4. Kleeman - Has to get by Easterling and you have him winning it, didn't he lose to Haire last week? Kleeman lost Steckler in PAC and Easterling has already beaten Steckler this year. 5. Froelich - Has to get by Ruggeri that kid is a stud the odds of him getting by Ruggeri and Kercher are slim. How did the ref take away from him at the classic?? Haha.. Yea I'm a little biased towards Tell City lol. But I think Froehlich has already beaten Ruggeri. At the Classic vs. Kercher he got called for stalling three times and locked hands twice. I think only the first stalling warning and one locked hands call were legitimate. It was at MD and I think the refs were looking to call everything they could get away with in order for Kercher to win. It might have been the worst officiated match I've ever seen. I think Kleemann has the potential to win if he has the right mindset. Like I said, I'm from Tell City so I like to think they will do well.
  18. Haha..we'll see about that come Saturday!!
  19. 103: Kuhn, Hall, Appell, Lawalin 112: Griesemer, Brown, Moody, Hirsch 119: Johns, Schroeder, Flynn, McEllhiney 125: Henderson, Doud, Rueger, Konrath 130: Seitz, Girten, Kast, Harmon 135: Welch, DeHaven, Wade, Weinzapfel 140: Sims, Welch, Smith, Hoehn 145: Zenthoefer, Richard, Schleter, Boyle 152: Stein, Weiss, Ritter, Pettijohn 160: Kleemann, Weikel, Haire, Pace 171: Wedding, Mann, Boots, Choate 189: Rosebrock, Carlile, Price, Adams 215: Robison, Froehlich, Kercher, Wimpelberg 285: White, Borkowski, Carlisle, Daugherty I have to give some love to the Tell City guys. I don't see why anyone has Froehlich advancing. He should beat Ruggeri and he only lost to Kercher 6-5 at the Holiday Classic because the ref took the match away from him. I look for him and Kleemann to both make some noise. ;D
