  1. North Montgomery HS now has a Physical Education opening. Looking for a wrestling coach and now a basketball coach. Interested persons should contact Matt Merica - AD mmerica@nm.k12.in.us
  2. Willing to work all levels - High School - - Elementary 30 years experience at all levels J.D. Minch 202 S. Vine St. Crawfordsville, IN. 47933 Cell # 765-376-5638
  3. North Montgomery HS now has a Business Teacher opening. NM is still looking for a head wrestling coach. All interested are to contact Matt Merica - AD at NM mmerica@nm.k12.in.us JoeDad needs a replacement!
  4. Yes - the packets are being mailed this year. If you do not receive a packet and finished in the top 3, Jr's should contact Mike McCarthy - mikemccarthy@misco.biz and Cadets should contact Ben Nicely - ben7606@iquest.net Top 3 of each wt. will be invited first. If the weights are not filled, then the next placers will be invited. You qualify at the wt. you wrestled in state. That can change if a wt. opens up and that position may be used to fill in up to 4 per wt. If you finish in the top 3 of Central regionals, then you qualify as a wrestler and can go another wt. JD Minch
  5. After further investigation, I found out that the need to qualify only applies to the younger wrestlers! Cadets and Jrs DO NOT have to qualify since their portion of the Central Regional is an "open" tournament - which includes multiple states. Therefore, I'm resending my previous statements. Thanks to Sharon Dowden, Louis Rosbottom, & Pete Isais for providing the information to set things staright. My apologizes for causing any undo stress to any and all wrestlers. But still, as coaches, team leaders, and state directors - we want all our wrestlers to qualify at the Central Regionals - because they do two things - 1 They qualify as a wrestler - meaning they can change weight classes at Fargo 2 They do not count against the total number of participants that a state is limited too. So go for it!
  6. 119@88, AJ is correct that your son will qualify for the Cadet/Jr Nationals in Fargo, by placing in the top 3 of Central Regionals. However to be eligible to compete in the Central Regionals, your son MUST participate in INDIANA's state meet. The ISWA State Freestyle Jr. meet is this Saturday at Lawrence North HS and Cadets will be allowed to compete.

CMU has boasted multiple All-Americans each of the past five seasons and a total of eight times during Borrelli?s tenure. Borrelli became the school?s all-time wins leader while leading the Chippewas to their 10th consecutive conference crown in 2008. Borrelli was honored as National Coach of the Year by two organizations in 1998. The NWCA tabbed Borrelli at its annual convention in Colorado Springs and Wrestling International Newsmagazine (W.I.N.) honored Borrelli and Minnesota?s J Robinson with the Dan Gable Coach of the Year award. A well-respected coach on the national level, Borrelli was honored by his peers when he was presented with the National Wrestling Coaches Association Bob Bubb Coaching Excellence Award at the 2004 NCAA Championships. The annual award is given to one coach in each division in recognition of his contribution to the sport. Borrelli has coached one national champion, 27 All-Americans, seven MAC Wrestler of the Year honorees, 61 MAC champions, 95 national qualifiers, six NWCA All-Academic first team selections, 33 Academic All-MAC first team selections and seven MAC Freshman of the Year selections. He graduated in 1979 with a bachelor of science degree in physical education. Borrelli was an assistant at Clemson University for two years from 1984-86. He earned a master?s degree in education administration and supervision from Clemson in 1987. Before coming to CMU, Borrelli was the head coach at Lake Superior State University for five seasons. He compiled a 46-25-1 record and led his team to five top 20 finishes from 1986-91. His first head coaching tenure produced 17 All-Americans, 26 Division II national tournament qualifiers and two Division II national finalists. Tom Borrelli and his wife, Lorri, reside in Mount Pleasant. They have two sons, Bob (30) and Jason (27), both of whom wrestled at CMU. Jason is in his first season as the head coach at Stanford University. 16. All the wrestlers listed have committed to this event. Basically, we've had 3 wrestlers not accept - one is going to another tournament, one is involved in a spring sport, and the third one is hurt.
  17. Scholastic Duals - April 17/18,2009 in York, PA. The IHSWCA uses the highest placing underclassmen of each weight, at the IHSAA Individual Tournament to invite the wrestlers. If a wrestler options not to participate, then the Team Leader moves down the list until all positions are filled. If not enough state wrestlers to fill, then he moves to the semi-states - that usually requires taking a state alternate. Lots of comparisons are evaluated, but somehow it seems someone is overlooked. This years' two teams seem to be of high caliper wrestlers. 23. Please be my guest to copy and paste. By the way: The IHSWCA has provided a coaches hospitality room at the State Individual Meet since 1986, that I know of - my first year as head coach and I have been in charge of acquring it since 1990 - my first year as IHSWCA Treasurer. At Conseco - it has always been in Suite 29 which is right next to the Varsity Club Restaurant. It's become a little costly, but the food is always consumed.
