2. PRE-REGISTATION FOR FOLKSTYLE STATE If you plan to participate in ISWA Schoolboy/Cadet/Junior Folkstyle State Finals, you must pre-register and pay online at trackwrestling.com. Deadline to pre-register is Tonight by 11:59 pm A direct link to the event can be found on the Home Page at www.iswa.com Registrations will not be accepted after midnight on Wednesday. Please be aware that in 2010 NO EXCEPTIONS will be made for those failing to register by the deadline. Coaches please remind your parents and wrestlers of the deadline. In 2009, the biggest problem we had with wrestlers failing to register, by the deadline, was for this tournament. Unlike last year, it will not work to call the office or a director, after the deadline, and request that we make exceptions.
3. I totally agree with awood1. I have attended IHSAA State since 1984 and when it was at Market Square the atmosphere was great. Although I still wouldn't miss it, I would have to agree that it is just not the same.

5. According to an email I received, the placements on trackwrestling are not all correct. I know there were some wrestlebacks for a true 2nd that changed the placement. Apparently, those were not changed on the trackwrestling results. I changed the 110 lb. results. If there are others, please let me know. You can post corrections here or email iswa@sbcglobal.net Thanks
6. It is my understanding that line brackets will be used this year...not vertical pairing. Vertical pairing was used last year due to some miscommunication when setting the tournament up on trackwrestling. That is not the case this year.
7. USA Competitor Cards can be purchased on-line at: www.iswa.com NOT themat.com as stated in the MS State information.
8. USA Cards can be purchased at www.iswa.com......NOT themat.com as stated in the MS State information.

14. To all Clubs Due to the weather conditions causing school closings and cancelation of club practices we are offering weigh ins for all wrestlers tonight Friday January 8th from 6:00 ? 8:00 p.m. at Martinsville High School . Enter thru the main entrance and follow the signs. We will be in the hallway just off of the main entrance. We are also extending our fax and e-mail registrations to Saturday January 9th @ 3:30. Scott Stine MAW Club President Mb: 812-327-7974
15. It is true that most tournaments on the schedule require faxed weigh-ins only. I beleive this is in response to numerous complaints from parents and coaches who want the tournament to start on time and end early. I don't see how you can have it both ways. Either you have faxed weigh-ins and start on time or you have same day weigh-ins and wait a minimum of 1 hour to pair the tournament. The weather is a factor in the winter months but there is not much anyone can do about it. If 2 tournaments are as close in proximity as Martinsville and New Pal, chances are both tournaments would be cancelled. While New Pal was a problem last year....the club is under new management.
16. PERRY MERIDIAN ALUMNI NIGHT Perry Meridian Wrestling will host Alumni Night at Perry Meridian on January 13, 2010 We will be wrestling Cathedral. Please plan to arrive by 5:30pm to join us in the hospitality room for some food & drinks. Please RSVP to Tara Pierson @ busymom55@yahoo.com by Monday, Jan 11th. We are looking forward to seeing all of our alumni grapplers.
17. This year, the ISWA mailed 10,750 copies to members. Due to the number of copies and the cost of mailing, the publication is sent Bulk Rate. Bulk rate mail is not forwarded. If your magazine can not be delivered, the post office just trashes it. When you move, please notify the ISWA office prior to November 1 so your address can be updated for the mailing list. If you did not receive a publication call or email the ISWA office and we will mail one to you.
18. The Indiana Amateur Wrestling News was delivered to the post office yesterday. Looking forward to another great year!
19. Putnam Pain Wrestling Club will be hosting 2 Elementary Duals in 2010. Putnam Pain Elementary Duals - January 17 Blake Batchelor Duals - February 28 Detailed information on both events has been posted on the 2009-10 ISWA Elementary Dual Schedule www.iswa.com
20. The IHSWCA Middle School Individual State Championship serves as a qualifier for the USA Wrestling National Middle School Duals in Danville, Illinois the last week-end in March. The top 2 wrestlers in each weight class qualify for "Team Indiana" Gold and Blue. The weight classes at the individual state championships are the same as those at the national dual meet.
21. The 2010 Publication has been delivered to the printer. The publication should be in the mail by December 1. The first tournament on the schedule is December 13 in West Lafayette, Indiana.
22. You can file a protest in Freestyle and Greco and you do have to pay a protest fee. In Folkstyle, all corrections of errors must be settled with the official/head official at mat side using the guidelines per NFHS Rules. No judgment issue will be reviewed. I have not heard or read anywhere that you can challenge a weight at matside. At local tournaments, the only way to start and finish at a reasonable time is to have faxed weigh-ins. Since this requires the honor system, I'm certain that some will cheat. Call me old fashioned, but what have you really gained by cheating? A medal at a local tournament? The reality is that when you compete at the state or national level, you have to make weight. I am pleased that the ISWA has done away with regional weigh-ins, Now everyone will be required to weigh-in on the same scales either the night before or the morning of the tournament.
23. The ISWA 2009-2010 schedule is now complete . Tournament Schedule includes: 34 Folkstyle 7 Beginner's Folkstyle 18 Freestyle 1 Beginner's Freestyle 12 Greco-Roman 2 Women's ISWA State Finals in all styles Middle School State Championships (sponsored by IHSWCA) Indy Nationals (sponsored by Red Cobra Wrestling Club) Details on all events have been posted on the ISWA web site. http://www.iswa.addr.com/iswa_events__20092010.htm
24. Brandi...If you send me the 2010 information I will get it updated. That will eliminate the confusion.
25. The tentative schedule has been posted. At the top of the page it very clearly states that only tournaments in BLUE have been confirmed and the links updated. Tournaments have until November 1 to confirm their date and submit the paperwork. I am updating each event as I receive the new information. In addition, all ISWA State Final events, listed in RED, have been updated for 2010.
