  3. It is my humble opinion that when it comes to wrestling, especially during the sectional, seeding should mean squat for a serious contending wrestler. They should not be concentrating on where they are seeded, but instead concentrate on the task at hand, that is destroying whomever steps on the matt with them. I realize that a good seeding can mean an easier road to the finals, but if you think you are a better wrestler than anyone else in the field then it should not matter whether you wrestle them in the first round or the finals! Personally I would have a one track mind, go to the matt when your called, shake hands with whomever is across from you wait for the whistle and destroy!!! Good luck to all, cant wait for some great wrastlin.
  4. Nice, so it will be Calumet / Delphi / Frankfort / Lawrence Central / Twin Lakes / Portage Sounds like it will be a great day of wrastlin, and in my opinion if you go to this meet you will get to see two of this years state champs: 152 (McMonster) and 171 (Atackwood) not to mention all the other great warriors.
  5. bwoodward you my good man get a WAHOO from me, and not just because our Steelers are going to the SUPERBOWL....
  6. EASY ------------------------ McMurray over whomever (Mosier I would guess) McMurry is a beast and is on a mission!
  7. Well being a former Marine I did not know that Sean, thank you no wonder I like your work ethic and demeanor. Sir, I would like to say that there are many great schools and wrestling programs in both areas you are speaking about. Maybe you should make a trip up here to witness our state Finals.
  8. Man there was some great wrestling at CP!!! I went there to watch my brother, who wrestles for Rossville and it is so clear that you guys at CP and Portage are on a hole nother Levle. I told my brother to just wrestle his best and try to learn a few things from those guys, the only way you get better is to wrestle better competition and man did they find it. I was a lil disappointed with the actions of Portages 171, when he wrestled my brother it looked as if he was frustrated because he thought he would just go out there and dismantle the pudgy lil kid from rossville, and then when my brother reversed him and put him to his back with a peterson the portage kid came up out of the move and shoved him down after they were out of bounds. After the official had a talk with both of the wrestlers the Portage kid eventually pinned my brother, and I told him afterwords that you should take the actions of the portage kid as a compliment because you frustrated him and he couldn't figure out what to do with you. Besides that and a few questionable calls during the CP Portage match it was a pretty nice day of wrestling for me. Tsirtsis and Mcmurray just look dominant and I cant wait to see those guys wrestle again. P.S. My other brother and I spoke with/ interacted with fans from both CP and Portage and they were very respectful knowledgeable and helpful, so I wanted to thank those of you that we spoke with, it made a long day of but whoopings more bearable.
  9. I think Meatloaf said it baest " Two out of Three aint bad" but damn did Mir look good or what? I knew Rampage was not going to be denied, but silva still looked alot better.
  10. Chase Thompson (40-0) Frankfort (12) def. Heath VanDeventer (46-1) Bloomington North (11), decision 11-4. in 2003. what made this a great moment for me was not the actual match but in the face off VanDeventer ran to the center and instead of shaking Chases hand he gives him a full blown shoulder bump, which chase then laughed at and proceeds to dismantle him in their match. It was pretty funny.
  11. MONEY MONEY MONEY, and Zuffa is hoping for a war, and I think they are going to get it. Your telling me you do not want to see this fight? I cant wait for it. That is just me though ;D
  12. Lets have some predictions. Griffin VS Evans--------- Evans Nogera VS Mir ----------- Nogera (I hate Frank Mir) Silva VS Rampage ------------ Rampage ( third time is a charm and silva is not the same fighter of old)
  13. Y2 thank you so much for this, i live in the Lafayette area so it is hard for me to get to watch the bigger schools from down south and DA REGION, so hopefully I wont have to wait until state to see some great wrestlers!! ;D
  14. Ty Sloan, Thomas Lynch, and Jacob Paul all from Rossville all excellent wrestlers.
  15. Dave Fleming always puts on a great meet. I'm glad someone gave him his due credit.
  16. I agree, but last I checked dont you get 6 points for a fall, and only 5 for a tech? Using that time to work on your all around game is smart and should not be looked on as a mean spirited act, until it gets to that point, then I hope that it would be dealt with quickly.
  17. Just want to see where people stand. I like the 125 and 130 weights a lot.

  19. I hope this one actually happens and does not end up like the Twin Lakes invite.
  20. He is the head coach at McCutcheon now. Atwood is still the coach along with some great asst.
  21. former130 it is clear you have no intention of being open to an actual discussion, as a mater of fact it seems you just want to be confrontational and not even consider someone else might have a legit opinion. As for the officials, I just want there to be a different standard when it comes to officiating in High school and Middle school, there is just to much at stake at this level for a young man. I think Westfield can compete with anyone from there sectional for a title, but I dont know how they would fare against the big big boys. Here are a couple of wrestlers I want to see later 171- Peter (very strong and quick) 215- Petty (he did loose to Kim-HSE though) but both of these guys are tough.
  22. If you were to ask any real MMA trainer what kind of fighter they would most want to start out fresh with, almost everyone would say a wrestler. Wrestler have great balance, know how to train hard, learn quickly, and are experts in hip control and take downs. When I was in the Marine Corps we were always training, fighting and screwing around with each other, I was around boxers Karate dudes and every other kind of formal fighting discipline you can think of, and they all hated fighting a wrestler. Because they knew that a wrestler would close the distance and take them down, every time. even a mediocre wrestler can dominate a fight and that is why you are starting to see alot of wrestlers finding there way into the UFC, WEC and every other MMA organization. Trainers and fight organizers are clamoring for wrestlers all over the US, why are they, well those of us that know and love our sport know why. Because wrestlers kick ..... butt!!! Plain and simple.
  23. I was at HSE Invite this weekend and they were far and away the best all around team there. They dismantled Richmond, Zionsville and Rossville, buthad a closer match with the home team Hamilton SE. My only complaint was one of the officials there was so inept that I would not trust him to do a middle school exhibition match. The one thing I can say for the guy is that he is very consistent, CONSISTENTLY HORRIBLE. I am going to find out his name and tell every coach I know to watch out for him and to never bring him to any of there contests!!! My brother is an official and his father in law officiated at state last year and after showing them a tape of just a few of his matches they where in dismay. I usually do not make it a point to harp on the officials because it can be very difficult sometime but this guy has no place on a mat of any variety. It is a shame to see a great wrestling match ruined because of a moron!
