  1. When I taught there the thing I was most impressed with is how little emphasis there is on the individual and how much like an extended family and support for the team there is. That extends to all sports and academic competitions.
  2. I'll give you that. Though I haven't seen much of him this year I think Ayersman is too good on top and gets some nearfall at some point. Ayersman 5-3.
  3. I guess it's the same scrutiny Burris gets with volleyball, they have a blind draw but somehow the good volleyball players are always randomly selected.
  4. Ayersman, he's just too technical for Campbell. It should be close. I hope they don't end up on the same side of the bracket.
  5. Good luck, I'll keep my fingers crossed it goes smoothly.
  6. One of the most thought out responses yet, thanks.
  7. Maybe he sees them pinning their way through. I think it would be tough for CMA to place 4th though, unless everybody chokes and falls to their backs.
  8. Seriously, all the movie quotes are freaking me out and getting old. The Dude abides.
  9. Hate to break it to you, this happens already. Almost every big meet I've been to I've seen plain clothed coaches from other schools at with phones out and scouting. 3.5 more weeks until Conseco! Anyone else have Vision Quest on permanent replay at home?
  10. I really think CMA pulls this out. Can Miracle pull out a championship? Who does she have wins over? That would be incredible, it would be historic to have 2 girls at the Merrillville SS.
  11. I guess it was long enough ago that I've forgotten. I forgot to say it before, but if I came off sounding like I didn't believe you I'm sorry. This must be the hot issue of the year, wonder what next year's will be. Predictions? Should we create betting pools?
  12. I certainly believe you, I just don't recall it being this hot on the board. Makes me glad I'm not in high schools any more, now that the state is making every school recruit to keep funding this will get even worse.
  13. I guess I'm still baffled by the anger and slander directed at the coaches here when there haven't been at any of those other schools. I know the coaches and they are fantastic people and coaches, I would never question their ethics. I don't personally know the others but I doubt there's concern there either. Yeah, a kid moved, let's get on with our lives and take a moment to calm down.
  14. I would be scared, they miss so much school with snow days and delays they've got plenty of time to come over for a good old fashion countryboy beatdown.
  15. Now it's making more sense. There was another post at one point saying 3 students left Franklin, 1 to Florida, 1 to Yorktown, 1 to Crown Point. I either misread or disrememberized it if it's Lowell.
  16. Owen, if you don't place at state I would be shocked. Good luck!
  17. I guess my main question is why was it ethical when Tsirtsis, Stahl, Reinohl, and Wright did it, but not Van Horn? Is it just the timing people take issue with? There was another student from Franklin that moved to Crown Point, correct? Why is nothing being said about him? I'm just confused about why everyone found 1 target to attack, but then I'm one of those Anabaptist pacifists anyway.
  18. All these personal attacks are getting ridiculous. Everyone has their own opinion, but there are no facts in this case, just far too much slander. Until any facts come out it seems obnoxious and immature to come on here complaining. Did this happen when Tsirtsis moved to Crown Point? Or Reinohl or Stahl to Mishawaka? Or Wright to Warren Central? As wrestler60160 said, families move all the time, in every sport, band, and academic area. If anything illegal was done then there should be proof brought forward, not conjecture and anger. If nothing wrong was done then why are so many people trying to drag 1 school through the mud?
  19. The only portion of this I want to comment to is that Yorktown indeed is a very high move-in area. With the college, hospital, and a lot of very high paying engineering firms there are students from all over the world moving in. I used to teach there (working at a college now) and my AP Chemistry class my first year had 4 students who moved in from outside the US and another 6 that moved in because their parents got jobs at Ball State or the hospital. There were 14 students in the class. People live in Yorktown because it's a very wealthy area outside of the Muncie limits and the property taxes are low. There was no way I could have afforded to live there, that's for sure! As for the other wrestler that came in you need to check your facts, he has family there and spent summers there and as I understand it he wanted to finish with his friends. He waited until after wrestling season last year to move.
  20. Going by "perdictions" is always a bad idea, even worse than predictions.
  21. Do coaches ever use that as a tactic to move their guys to the opposite side of a bracket and help with the team points situation?
  22. He was the only 4 time Walsh Ironman champ, that alone says something. He was as dominating as Alex Tsirtsis, but looks like he's adjusted to college even better.
  23. I assume he lost a wrestle-off then? Did I miss something somewhere?
  24. Taylor is a beast and Young did very little wrestling, no offense and lots of sitting still on bottom. Taylor was sloppy and pulled him into his own legs a couple times, I was a little surprised by that.
  25. Shipping Up to Boston - Dropkick Murphys Always Lunatic Fringe as well
