  8. The convention center downtown is closing in August for about 2 years for total renovation and expansion. Louisville's downtown has become a really nice. There is not much in the way of food options at the convention center at the fairgrounds.
  9. Reminder about the camp tomorrow. Come on out and get ready for Folkstyle State. Make sure to enter the building on the athletic end of the building next to the large parking lot as there is another event going on tomorrow. Let the people taking gate know you are attending the wrestling camp.
  10. I have just finished Finish Strong- The Dan Russell Story this is the best wrestling book that I have read. It gives insight into training, goal setting, coaching, overcoming adversity, what you really get from wrestling and overall great life lessons. It is only $15 on amazon. Here is the preview offered on amazon. He does discuss god and his religion but is not over done either if that is not your thing. For twenty-one years Dan Russell trained for four to six hours a day, six days a week in pursuit of winning an Olympic Gold medal in the sport of wrestling. He pushed his body to the limits, enduring brutal weight loss regimens, shattering injuries, personal tragedy and constant inner battles with the voices from his past telling him that he wasn’t good enough. With his brother and fellow champion wrestler, Joe, by his side, Dan reached the heights of what could be accomplished in the sport. Dan’s Olympic dream was within his grasp. But God had other plans for his life. Finish Strong is the incredible story of a driven man’s pursuit of success and finding purpose when all seems lost. It is the story of a wrestler, struggling not just against his opponents in the ring, but to discover what makes a true champion. The lessons from Dan’s life teach us that to finish strong we must make the choice to fight for our dreams and embrace the struggle — and when we do, the winning will take care of itself.
  11. Coyte Cooper is into marketing works directly with NCAA/NWCA for marketing and has a lot of Indiana ties. He may be able to get into the ears of some important people.
  12. A few years back didn't IU and Purdue trade a couple of DQs in a couple controversial matches?
  13. Our wrestler Bradley Philpot is up for athlete of the week. He's behind right now and could use a few votes. Help a fellow wrestler out. http://usatodayhss.com/2015/vote-here-for-student-athlete-of-the-week-indiana
  14. It wasn't during weigh ins but when I was in high school we left a kid running upstairs at the school and didn't realize we had left him until we were half way to Cincinnati. He said he ran for some time before heading down and realizing we had left. He ended up quitting the next week.
