I am not sure where Blue fits in if they make it to the finals against Perry. Maybe Tsirtsis stays at 145 and Blue goes 152. Fuqua takes one for the team and tries to not get majored by Johnson and Shurg to 170? Or does Fuqua just stay at 152? I have a question since Blue did not wrestle in sectionals can he wrestle at 160? Or is that not possible? I think he went 170 during a dual meet this year, I could be wrong but I thought I saw that. Blue did wrestle 145 at Team regionals so can he only bump up one wt from there? I am not saying this would be a good move but just wondering.

I think all 4 semi-final match ups will be good. PM/MD and CP/Cathedral. I think PM will win it all but will have some tough matches, they are just too deep with no holes.

Did Micic get hurt? Hard to believe he did not win at 106

I think Tsirtsis will Tech or Pin all of the opponents at 145 this year if fully healthy and injury free. I don't think Howe did it his senior year he beat Duckworth 22-9 in the championship match, but he was pretty close Tsirtsis will see Mavros 2 or 3 more times and it will get harder each time IMO, but I think he does it.

Robinson is a physical wrestler. I am not sure this would be the best for the CP team against Merr though. He wrestles maybe the second best wrestler in the state and then 1.5 hours later he wrestles Berry or Nickson. Sure if LC was the only dual of the night or if Merr did not have a top 5 wrestler at this weight he should go against Robinson. But what is best for the team? The Kral/Berry match or Kral/Nickson match is going to be a huge 3 points. I think if the dual started at 106 and the LC match was won I don't think I would wrestle Kral against Robinson, this would be best for the team IMO. I would think the same thing if Merr started against LC first round. I would not wrestle Nickson against Robinson either if the dual was won. I just don't think it is good team strategy. Will be interesting to see.

So what you are saying they would go? 160 Sandefer 170 Stevenson 182 Peppers 195 Deluna 220 Berry HWT Nickson Make for some interesting matchups that is for sure. Kral vs. Berry would be huge. That would make it Sandefer vs. fuqua at 160 Stevenson vs. Shurg at 170 Peppers vs. Kral at 182 Deluna vs. Langben at 195 Berry vs. Kral at 220 Nickson vs. Swope at HWT

They would wrestle in the first round of team regionals on Wed night. Kral is going to have a big match against nickson or maybe even Berry in the next. I will be surprised if Kral wrestles against Robinson that night. What are the thoughts if you are the coach?

That is crazy. This match, fuqua/Garcia, Shrug/Peppers will determine this dual IMO. Whoever gets 2 out of 3 will win. Halsted and Padilla is going to be a close 1-2 match either way. Padilla owns the mental edge.

Saw Halsted inj defaulted against Mavros. What kind of injury was it? Was it the same injury that had him out half of the season. The Padilla/Halsted match is one of the biggest matches of the night. What was the score of the Mavors/Halsted match before the injury?

I would not be surprised to see Stevenson win by 6 or more.

I agree really hard to find 5 locks. Seems like this year there are some really interesting matchups. Last year at 135 had a great top 4 with Raley, Jackson, Kieffer and Gregory. 220 is going to be crazy, most likely 1 of these 4, Nickson, Kral, Gallegos or Robinson won't make it out of semistate depending on the draw.

I think Alex Tsirtsis was on the dream team in 04 against California. I am not sure on the win percentage but Pennsylvania has won 2 out the last 3 years. I think they will have a very tough team this year as well.

Really hard this year. Seems like Indiana is getting more depth. 1. Tsirtsis 2. Jackson 3. Brooks (Does this wt have a flashback to Cashe and Tsirtsis 3 years ago?) 4. Lynde 5. Sliga Top 2 seem easy after that most the weight classes have a lot of depth. Anything can happen we all know that.

That would have been a good dual. I think Humphrey, Escobedo and Coughlin were all top 5 nationally. Escobedo and Coughlin both may have been number 1. Escobedo vs. Jackosn would have been fun to watch.

Wow Fuqua would be a big loss for the bulldogs. When healthy he seems to be a top 5-10 wrestler at his wt class. But Costakis is out Merr. which is a big loss as well. With Fuqua out I see it being 27-27. Maybe Tsirtsis just goes to sectionals and wrestles 160

This would be a big risk. They could lose all 3 and get no points. I think Swope beat Nickson earlier, not saying he will again. Kral is pretty tough and maybe too big for Berry. And the backup at 195 could give up bonus points too. I Think Langbehn majored Deluna in the most recent dual. I figure with Berry at 195 that is 6 points and Kral and Swope 3 each so that is a split.

This is some funny stuff. J. Tsirtsis is the best high school wrestler out of Indiana IMO, I just feel that Indiana wrestling is much deeper than it was 5-10 years ago. Next 4 would be Howe, then A Tsirstis, Ellis and Escobedo in that order IMO. Humphrey gets the nod from college and beyond. But to answer the question Tsirtsis would win 160 on down easy, I think Stevenson may win it all. 170 would be close, but 182 would be too much to wt to give up if he weighed in at 145. Top 5 maybe but not champ. (Hard to believe that Escobedo and Humphrey only wrestled once their freshman year when Escobedo majored Humphrey in the first round).
