I say we go to the Metric System, It's the standard in track and field! instead of 103 lbs, we have 46 kg.

Give it a rest. You sound like a broken record. The truth is Jeff has a really good team, but I seriously doubt you'll hear the Jeff wrestlers give an excuse for losing to good programs. In time, if Jeff continues on its current path, they will be beating these teams. I admire the program and what coach Struck has done, but you are giving Jeff a bad rap by making excuses galore!

Lots of great posts, but its kind of gotten off topic. While I agree that parents forcing their children into activities they are not comfotable with is intolerable. I think the intention of the post is dealing with football coaches who coerce their student athletes to choose between two seperate season sports, which the athlete has the desire and compassion for both. If we're discussing it on this forum, then I seriously doubt it's just isolated incidents

gnome, I absolutely agree. Kids nowadays need little bit of firmer persuasion.

The really sad part is that these teenage kids can be easily manipulated by the coaches of these, how do I say it, "For-Profit" sports. With threats of not starting or benching, it could weigh heavy on Student Athletes, and force them to make irrational decisions. Shame on the Coach/Administrator

I agree, football and wrestling compliment each other. But nowadays, coaches are more stingy with their players, especially in larger 4a-5a schools.

Been down this road before...Definately unethical, but if you make a fuss about it, it will be swept under the rug by the administration...Football and Basketball pay the bills!!!

With the teams in this sectional, this has to be one of the tougher sectionals in the state. Several good teams and tons of quality individuals.

It's gotta be the Hoosier Hills Conference. Why else would a group of Parents and coaches from Madison form a committee to attempt a "Bail-Out".

Year after Year, on the old board and on this new forum, I have read the same thing over and over and over...Jeff will beat Floyd, Jeff will beat Floyd. The Laws of averages are with Jeff...Is this the year? Like it was last year, and the year before. Jeff has a lot of good kids, they have spent a considerable amount of time preparing themselves this season and the off-season...But it always seems that Floyd just has their number. Floyd has a deep tradition and year in and year out they get more with less. Whenever I think they'll have a down year, low and behold they win Conference and Sectional and frequently Regionals. I'm not knocking Jeff, they are a quality team and they do have the individuals that can finally knock Floyd off their perch...But, they haven't done anything yet!
