  1. After 140lbs: Mish. 212, Law No. 167, MVille. 161.5, Bell. 161, Penn 142
  2. Mish 207, MVille 161.5, Bellmont 156, Lawr No 155, Penn 135.5
  3. I figured that's what the Rat was trying to say, anytime you see Cedar Tuckey he is referring to Howe. The Midlands brackets aren't updated that far yet, and for some reason I can't get on TheMat message board to check, possibly too many people logged on?
  4. 2007 Al Smith:7 State Champs participated, 5 won that year. 125 had two State Champs, a 2nd, and 3rd. 130lb State Champ placed 3rd at Al. 140lb Champ, placed 2nd at Al. 189 Champ placed 2nd at Al.215 featured 2nd, 3rd, and 4th .
  5. No offense, Mazatlan is much more authentic than Hacienda, but I have not been back since a MPD buddy was called there for a security alarm set off by motion detector, and it wasn't set off by 2 legged mammals if you get my drift. Not my story, straight from the officer.
  6. Agreed, Between the Buns is a nice non-chain. Good grub, beer, sports bar atmosphere.
  7. If time permits, obviously going for both days is great, but it is a long tournament. Definitely second day, quarter-finals and on feature great wrestling. Shortcuts to the school, not really. The school is located on a main artery, so regardless of how you get to Mishawaka, Lincolnway is the street you want to get to. Where will you be coming from? Hotels, there are tons on the Northside of Mishawaka, they have been popping up all over to accomodate our Hawaii Bowl Champion team west of us. There is an inexpensive Days Inn not too far east from the school, actually on the same street (Lincolnway) Food, again, depends on budget and taste. There are some good, locally owned, eateries downtown Mishawaka. Doc Pierces, Main St. Grille, Hacienda, Pat's Pub, Squads 2nd Precinct, Francescos. Again, head North to the shopping mecca, and you can find everything. And yes, we do have a Hooters!
  8. I would expand on Harper's 'quality' wins as multiple vs. Brooks, multiple vs. Quiroga, Eppert, McMurray, multiple vs. Porras, March. Fairly impressive list, 3 State Championships and 4 Runners-Up among that group.
  9. Thanks Karl, sorry about the thumb, I'm sure it is worth the great wrestling you got to see today!
  10. What weight has Roach been wrestling at?
  11. And Harper beat Quiroga for the State Title the previous year 7-4. Harper is 3-0 v. Cashe, I doubt he is "avoiding" him.
  12. I appreciate the play by play Y2, keep it coming if you can for those of us stuck at home.
  13. Mishawaka Dream Team (Based on State finishes/highest placing wrestler gets the nod) 95/103: Henry Wilk 1st/2nd (Hon. Mention Devon Nelson 2/2/sq) 112: Mike Lehman 1st/SQ 119: Nick Wiesjahn 3/4/SQ 125: Josh Harper 1/1/1/? 130: Charlie Cornett 4 135/138: John Hall 1/2 140: Vince Gresham 1/SQ/SQ and Steven Sandefer 1/5/SQ 145: Jim Stephens 2/SQ 152: Brad Harper 2/1/7/7 160: Chris Snyder 1/1 171: Alex Dolly 2/3/5 189: Ian Hinton 1/1/2/SQ 215: Pat Day 1/SQ 275/285/HWT: Mike Faulkner 2nd
  14. Trust me, I'm right, I've known the Whetstones for years, and I went to school with them. I have been to the finals for the last 20 years. Jim wrestled 160, SQ Jr. and Sr. year. Lost both years friday night never placed. 1990 lost friday night to Trent Dotlich, Ben Davis, 1991 lost to Darren Lawson, Delta. He was however, the only Semi-State Champ for Mishawaka out of the 6 SQ in 1991 the year we won State.
  15. Mishawaka line-up: It was Jim Whetstone, the older brother, 2x SQ at 160, but never placed. Dolly's highest finish was 2nd at 171, so I would put him in there.
  16. Agreed, I highly doubt Harper would pin all 3, if any this year as Cashe just keeps getting better. But easy on the stall comment, Harper did pin Quiroga last year, and beat him the previous year for the State Title.
  17. Iowa remains #1, 20-15 over ISU, set dual meet attendance record with 15,955! '07 Runner-up at 133 Slaton gets majored, Metcalf techs, and Tsirtsis beats #2 (AWN) Gallick 4-2.
  18. Tsirtsis 4-2 over Gallick, reversal at the buzzer. Nice win!
