  1. True! The top 4 in the Central 160 class could very well be the top 4 in the Castle Regional. We always seem to have 1 or 2 of these scenarios each year. It probably won't happen as often (with the sectional realignment) but this would be my pick for this year.
  2. I agree that MD does a tremendous job of breaking down tape and finding ways to minimize the opponent's strengths and expose weaknesses. Central knows this as well and has a former MD wrestler on staff that understands this . Kemper doesn't have many weaknesses and he still has time work on his conditioning. I expect epic battles between these two and I wouldn't be surprised if Forzley came out on top this week or next. However, I still give the edge to Kemper. I would like to see the Tecumseh kid sneak in there as well.
  3. Central, Mater Dei, North, Gibson Southern, North Posey, Pike Central, Princeton, Tecumseh, Vincennes Lincoln & Wood Memorial. My top 4 without knowing the seeds or brackets. 106: MD, VL, GS, CE 113: MD, GS, NO, TE 120: MD, CE, GS, PR 126: MD, GS, NO, PC 132: MD, GS, CE, NP 138: MD, GS, CE, VL 145: MD, PR, CE, NO 152: CE, MD, NO, PC 160: CE, MD, TE, NP 170: MD, PR, TE, NO 182: MD, TE, GS, CE 195: CE, MD, PC, VL 220: GS, TE, MD, CE 285: PC, NO, MD, CE
  4. Boonville, Castle, Bosse, Harrison, Memorial, Reitz, Heritage Hills, Mt. Vernon, South Spencer & Tell City. My top 4 without knowing the seeds or brackets: 106: MV, ME, CA, TC 113: RE, ME, MV, TC 120: CA, ME, MV, RE 126: BV, ME, MV, RE 132: RE, CA, MV, TC 138: ME, CA, BV, HH 145: CA, MV, HH, ME 152: RE, HH, MV, BO (just because he scored on Kelley!) 160: BV, ME, RE, CA 170: HH, CA, ME, RE 182: HH, CA, RE, MV 195: ME, HH, CA, BV 220: ME, HA, MV, HH 285: TC, MV, ME, HH
  5. I left a little early but Mater Dei had 12 in the finals and probably ended up with 6 champs. The had 5 when I left after the 170 match. Egli, Ferguson and Lee looked completely dominate. Kelley was as well but he exposes his back too much in my opinion. The 120 class is loaded and Johnson was the man today. 138 is another class where you could flip flop the top 4. Petrig from Memorial took it today. The 160 match was very exciting with Kemper edging Forzley 15-13.
  6. I'm having the same problems on my desktop. My Iphone is working fine. I haven't tried the lap top yet.
  7. I agree it was a good night of wrestling for a great cause. Gina Moore singing the National Anthem was terrific! The 170 match did get things going early with some fireworks on the mat and in the corner. I agree that the coach probably had a good point and probably got the make-up call with the take-down in Overtime. T.C. had a lot of tough calls to make in that match. A lot of action on the edge. The 120 match was exciting. Brown seemed to be in control but Arny kept it close and had the "cement mixer" or whatever it's called as time expired. He just needed a few more seconds. Arny is hard to hold down and seems to be in great condition. I'm sure these guys will see a lot of each other in the next few weeks. Petrig also gave Schnell a little scare at 138 as time expired. Schnell looks strong this year.
  8. I was planning to go but that does add more time in Paradise :-\ 1/23 Dual, SIAC, Sectional & Regional. That's a lot of culture for a westsider!
  9. I've only missed 5 or 6 days of work total in my 28 years and 2 of them were this week due to the stomach flu. There is a bad bug going around. I pray ALL wrestlers can avoid this illness come Tourney time! Unless you need to cut some weight quickly

  11. Funny twitter post on Kutcher's appearance at the match! You know you're in Carver-Hawkeye Arena for a dual when Dan Gable is drawing more attention than Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis combined.
  12. UCHS had the following tweet a couple of hours ago: Can't make it to Evansville tonight? Watch Union County vs Mater Dei LIVE on @livestream: livestre.am/4lrWU.@UCHSathletics
  13. http://www.courierpress.com/news/2013/dec/11/no-headline---powless/ Very proud to know this guy. Quality individual!
  14. ok - that makes sense as to why he wasn't mentioned.
  15. Todrank from Reitz should be in the mix.
  16. I thought this was a good story. The kids from the Boys and Girls club really seem to be paying attention and enjoying it. Future wrestlers! http://athletics.uindy.edu/news/2013/3/6/WREST_0306135206.aspx?path=wrest Numerous other articles from the NCAA D2 championships on the UIndy athletic website. They do a nice job of promoting the team and the sport in general.
  17. Y2 is taking the hit normally reserved for Reitz fans/coaches. BTW - Congrats to Welch. I will be pulling for you and all of the Indiana guys. It's tough for me to cheer for Purdue but I make exceptions for wrestlers!
  18. Great stuff! We had a great time cheering on the U of Indy guys. Did you or UofI send anything to the Evansville courier? AJ deserves a nice write up being 1st Team Academic All American and with a 5th place All American finish.
  19. My daughter (Cheerleader) received a state medal when Reitz won in Football.
  20. finals starting now http://client.stretchinternet.com/client/uiu.portal#

  22. I know this isn't the College message area - but nobody was talking about it so I thought I would get it going on the Highschool board. University of Indianapolis has 2 wrestlers in the championship - Alex Johns (Reitz) and J. Kieffer. They also have 3 going for 3rd including Jeff Weiss (Heritage Hills).
  23. I agree. If you're truly injured, giving up position would be the last thing on your mind. If you're just wanting a break, this could keep you out on the mat.
