Eric Keith back in 98" came in 44-0 I believe. Lost to eventual state champ Birge in semi state championship. Then lost Friday night to Chet Wortinger and then lost 2 more times at team state. One of the worst collapses I've seen.

This time of year makes a lot of us nostalgic. I often think back to one of the toughest tournaments I wrestled in my senior year (only year in Indiana). I never grabbed a program of it and can't remember who all was in my weight class or who beat whom. I was able to dig up a couple from a Newspaper search. Much of it is still lost to me. Does anyone out there have this info?
Attached is what I was able to piece together with some speculation on names based on IHSAA Sectional placements in their Yearbook 1994-1995.
In particular the Merrillville SS was extra tough having these guys in addition to Spurrier/Hunt/Redman/M Arnold/G Johnson.
*Anecdotally, the wrestler I lost to for 7th went on to be State Champ the next season and then my Fraternity Brother in College.
Chad Buntin of Frankfort would become a state champion in 1996

WOW, that was one exciting match.
The only thing I will say is that if you had 10 different Ref's officiate that match you would likely end up with 10 different final scores.
What score did you come up with?

There is only 1 valid answer. 1999 Merriville Semi-state. #1 Alex Ramos,#2 Josh Birge,#3 Robert Maldonado,#4 Andrew Bradbury. Birge lost 13-12 to Bradbury in the Ticket round. Bradbury went on to place 2nd to Ramos. The match is on youtube and Birge clearly wins this match not getting back points on 2 seperate occasions and handles the huge loss with class.
