  1. Why wait on Flo, MatScouts, or any other form of wrestling media to give us shine when we can do our own thing here? We have a full calendar of USAW events that a lot of money will be spent on regardless. Let’s have some fun and make it happen.
  2. I can see it now: Indiana All-Star Dream Slam as co-promoted and produced by IndianaMat, the IHSWCA, and the ISWA. A full-card of dream matches highlighted by a dual meet featuring #TheCounty versus the state of Indiana. It could also have some girls’ matches, youth/middle school matches to showcase the next generation, and even a college or senior level match. An event to showcase Indiana wrestling at all levels.
  3. Exactly. The streets need this. I’d go as far as making it free to the public even. Parents spend so much money throughout the season traveling and spend a crap ton during the spring and summer for all of these regional and national events. It’d be nice to give back to the community and put on a good show with the best talent around the state. I feel like @Darrick Snyder would be up for it!
  4. Anyway we can set this up? I remember in Spring/Summer 2016, Perry Meridian drove down to Columbus to wrestle a triple dual against Columbus East and another team just for fun, and I would love to see that happen again. This is the time to do all of the fantasy match-ups. Why not? Everyone is looking to have fun with the sport anyway.
  5. This is a nasty level of hating. Kyrel pinned and teched his way through John Hurrle, pinned his way through Marion County, pinned and teched his way to the Al Smith finals, got two falls in the matches Warren wrestled at Team State, pinned his way through sectionals, pinned and teched his way through regionals, pinned his way through semi-state, and teched his opening round at State, won his semis 9-3, and pinned the #1 in the finals… DOMINANT without a doubt.
  6. Idk how to help you there, but you kicked ass all year, bro. Congrats this season
  7. How does everyone keep forgetting or overlooking Thrine. I’m not understanding. If he stays at 132, he’s gotta be the #1.
  8. With Crown Point finishing third in the team race last night, EMD, Perry Meridian, and Cathedral remain the only programs to have successfully completed a three-peat in this century. EMD actually won four straight. Three-Peat EMD (2000-03); 4 Consecutive IHSAA State Titles Perry Meridian (2011-13); 3 Consecutive IHSAA State Titles + 1 IHSWCA State Duals Title Cathedral (2018-20); 3 Consecutive IHSAA State Titles + 1 IHSWCA State Duals Title Goes to show how tough it is to be the best team consistently.
  9. Had it not been for the one loss he suffered at Al Smith to Shepherd, he’d be my pick for most dominant wrestler this season. Just absolutely insane strength on top and he wrestles with so much finesse. I’m happy he avenged that loss in top form, though. Congrats, Rello!
  10. Tylin Thrine. He’s 80-1 after two seasons and will be a returning champion. He spent most of the season ranked nationally at 126, where he won it as a freshman, until he confirmed that he moved up to 132.
  11. Three champs tonight… I cooked with this post.
  12. I was wrong to use the term “overachievers,” and after being presented with a new perspective, I will be changing the title of this thread if possible.
  13. Very true. I didn’t think about it like that even having been considered an overachiever myself despite knowing my result was a letdown. Thank you for pointing that out. I have to remind myself these are kids. Also, @1prouddad I meant no harm by my statement and I apologize.
  14. Noah Warren and Eric Aue representing PM on commentary.
  15. Reminder to everyone on here, including myself, that we are grown adults speaking on high school kids. From the looks of it, there’s been some jabs and shade thrown on some threads, and it’s never that serious. It’s just wrestling. Sometimes it’s okay and necessary to take a step back from the board and just watch. This is for discussion about the sport, it becomes something completely different when everyone is throwing shots at each other, making claims about programs, and making remarks about kids. This is meaningful to those participating whether as a wrestler or coach, but there is far more to life than high school wrestling.
  16. No need to be dramatic and say “ouch.” It’s not downplaying anyone’s efforts, but on paper, according to various credentials, talent levels, and experience, a lot of these guys “aren’t supposed to win,” but are doing so in convincing fashion. Thus, they are overachieving. It’s not a derogatory term, and I, along with several others from my time, were considered overachievers.
  17. I’m happy to say I’ve been telling @FCFIGHTER170 all year Zar Walker could take the title.
  18. There have been a lot of unintimidated overachievers this weekend. I am happy to see it because it continues to prove true that anyone can be beat at any time.
  19. I’ll be the first to eat my words. Just didn’t want grown men taking a kid out of the match before it ever even happened. Big congrats to Hockaday. Great wrestler.
  20. Everyone is proving today that previous results don’t matter. State is different, man.
  21. Have a feeling Kyrel Leavell wins his second title today.
