  1. At the end of the day, the kid has to love the sport to some degree to be successful. Love for this sport It’s not everything but will help prevent “burnout” and keeps them on the mat on the off-season training every chance they can get.
  2. really good match. Lots of action, lots of shots! Regardless of the outcome Mendez wrestled high paced and did excellent!
  3. Yea same thing, that’s the only thing I found. I’m only interested in going to maybe session 5 and definitely 6.
  4. Such a loaded question with so many answers. I think we can all agree on one thing and that is if you dont put in the work on the offseason you will have a very tough season no matter what. Not only is mat time essential but conditioning and nutrition cant be ignored at all,
  5. Anybody know when I can actually buy single session tickets? Ive seen packages available but that does not interest me.
  6. Silas foster from connersville looked huge at 123. He will be a hammer
  7. Jesus Aquino vs Toby Billerman 8-4 Jesus leading. Last 30 seconds Billerman puts him on his back for 5 points winning 9-8
  8. That be awesome to have them at the Spartan. I think the last few years they haven’t even had all the teams show up
  9. Does anyone have event information on this tournament it is posted on track for September 19 but other the. That their is no info
  10. 116 has 3 state champion and a total of 9 state placers. 123 a total of 17 individuals that have state experience. This tournament looking to be the best one yet.
  11. Sad to hear that. Kids programs are very important! A solid kids program = solid high school program in the coming years. I just wish we could see stronger kids programs in our area. I think the article mentions that wissel plans on building onto the kids program in Richmond.
  12. wissel is a 2x All American and has coached at Purdue as well Duke university. He is returning to where it all began for him. This is huge for Richmond! https://www.pal-item.com/story/sports/high-school/2021/08/05/richmond-high-school-ben-wissel-returns-ad-wrestling-coach/5495999001/?fbclid=IwAR1gXVOdA2MlbT_YC_5OZ2zXmbbal2zzVKWuNY7O0TTSSMDahl7v5bU9GsQ
  13. If they won’t allow it at Midwest nationals maybe it can go down at IHPO? call it indianamat beefs
  14. Should modify the rules to where front headlocks are illegal and you are not aloud to tie up…
  15. After what he did at U23 he is already the GOAT in my books! I know it’s been discussed before but has he made his college choice yet? If not I can’t wait to see where he will go.
  16. So maybe it is a bit early but who cares, this forum is here to discuss stuff and I want to know what are your guys though on the IHPO. I really enjoyed the location last year they had and as always a great tournament. When will this year be? And will there be changes to expect?
  17. I looked it up and realized it like only 3hours away so not that bad. We definitely be going.
