  1. We used to have a lot of MS tourneys with a 70 pound weight class around here when I was younger.
  2. Quite a few of our local kids aren't even close to 70 pounds, let alone 75. We'll have a 6th grader next year who's only going to be in the mid-50's. Bellmont has an 8th grader who might be 80 pounds in street clothes. Not too many around here are happy with 75 pounds being the minimum.
  3. The Left will take any ammo it can dig up on a racial issue to add fuel to the fire. If blindly presented the fact of this situation, this is a non-issue and the ref did his job.
  4. As a team, Norwell beat Bellmont for the first time in school history.
  5. Was Slivka the kid who tossed his head gear across the gym and stormed off the mat?
  6. Bellmont came from behind Tuesday against Columbia City. Listening to it on the radio sounds like Bellmont has a very young team and gave up a lot of pins.
  7. Yorktown should be the dominant program out of the JayCo Regional for another year with Curtis leading the way and possibly on to a 3rd title (I hope Curtis and Mendez meet though). After that the young guns of Bellmont, AC, South Adams, and JayCo should be coming on strong. AC has a great Middle School program going with the head coach's sons coming up soon, and the 8th graders and Freshman at South Adams are better than last year's Varsity team with the exception of Miller (who's now gone). Bellmont has some stud Freshman kids to go along with a few state quality kids. They also have an 8th grader who's the son of Tim Myers on the Middle School team that will be a day 1 starter next year.
