  1. 220lb Final between Jakkarey Oliver (Whiteland) and Chance Harris (Ft. Wayne Concordia) was an exciting match, went into Tie Breaker 1. Harris went for the takedown to try and end it but slipped a little and allowed Oliver to get around behind him, but it was a good match. They were both Semistate Ticket rounders from opposite ends of the state.
  2. I’m seeing two sessions Saturday at Frosh/Soph, I’m assuming session 1 is 106-145 and session 2 is 152-285 can anyone confirm this and also cost? I know the last 2 years it’s been pay at the door, just making sure it’s going to be that way this year. I know Covid has made some venues switch to no cash so just making sure. Thanks in advance!
  3. There’s some young guys there, and a couple of them pulled some upsets this season. I agree, future looks bright!
  4. Would a wrestler that was not affiliated with a High School team be eligible to participate in Frosh/Soph state?
  5. Thanks. We actually got one, they were late getting to the Ft. Wayne coliseum Saturday and everyone was asking about them that morning. Appreciate the link though!
  6. They did not have shirts set up for sale at the coliseum today? Are they selling them online or not at all?
  7. Does anyone know if IHSAA will be streaming the Carroll regionals tomorrow?
  8. Keep sleeping on the 220lb kid at the top of the podium!! I’ll take Harris every day!
  9. This year that would have looked something like this using regional results as a guide, theoretically of course. 106 Ester over Vega: 3sac 0car 113 Just over Goheen: 3sac 3car 120 Standridge pins Chapman 3sa 9ca 126 Humphrey md over Saylor 7sa 9ca 132 Schrock pins Reust 7 sac 15 car 138 Price pins Stonestree 13sac 15car 145 Macias over Davis 16sac 15car 152 Arney pins Wiedeman 16sac 21car 160 Woenker over Hicks 19sac 21car 170 Kocks pins Bynum 25sac 21car 182 Christen over Bills 28sac 21car 195 Gigli over Smith 31sac 21car 220 Hart over Muncie 34sac 21car 285 Ault pins Mueller 40sac 21car SAC-40 Car-21
  10. Don't take me the wrong way, I wouldn't knock anyone for rooting on they're kids, or kids they know, or their team for that matter. That's what we all do, wrestling is the toughest sport out there, it takes a lot of courage to go out there win or lose. I agree that any individual or program can improve, I use Concordia as an example, 5-6 years ago their program was down, but with some good leadership it's improved. I'm not a coach either, I have a son on the team, and I'm impressed at what they've done as a team this year, especially since we only roster a total of 17 kids, individually they may not always win but as a team they pull together and make wins happen. But I appreciate you're input and I appreciate conversations about the SAC because as a conference they have been overlooked in wrestling for a while now.
  11. I'll give credit where credit is due, Ochoa took care of his business. That's about the only bright spot for Northrup though, they got throttled 62-13 by CL tonight, for a 6A school they need some work.
  12. I wouldn't call a 12-6 match a domination, I mean it's not even a major decision, and with Northrup facing Concordia tonight maybe there will be a rematch. I disagree with the fact that there are no flukes, sometimes a good wrestler gets out of position and gets caught, case in point, Woenker was up big time on Ochoa at Whitko, he made a mistake and paid for it, he's clearly the better wrestler but got out of position, I call that a fluke, you call it what you want.
  13. I think you're forgetting Harris from CL at 160, he beat Snyder at SAC Duels, it was a good match though in OT. He did drop one to Fisher from Luers but was it a fluke? Not sure, but I do know he only lost 4-2 against Berkebile from Frankton who's currently ranked 5th in state at 152 and had 1st takedown on him. I also believe your leaving out Murfield from CL at 138, if he's healthy he could very well see the top of the podium, and I'll agree no one beats Asher at 220, he's strong as an ox and has technique to go along with it. Just my thoughts.
