  1. I saw what I thought could have easily happened. Orndorff has been battling injury problems since the end of last season. He bruised ribs at Regionals and had a nagging knee injury on top of a re aggravated shoulder pain. Had he been healthy I feel it could have turned out this way. At least have him in the championship. It just so happened that he wasn't able to preform to his ability because of the injury and he didn't win. Everybody wrestled great and all that moved on deserve it. They stepped up and get to show off their talent under the lights. I look forward to Broukal capping off a tremendous career next weekend and hope to see Todrank make that transition to Indianapolis next season.
  2. Here is the link to the brackets: http://s302.trackwrestling.com/tw/predefinedtournaments/MainFrame.jsp?newSession=false&loadBalanced=true&sport=wrestling&TIM=1392581024388&pageName=&ie=false&frameSize=604
  3. Some really athletic competitors in the field over the past few years. Glad to see our wrestlers representing us in all walks of life. Really interesting that all four 220 pounders came from Mooresville, guess that just shows their dominance at that weight!
  4. Looks like you got your wish. Micic and Lee won't meet under the rather. Potential meeting in the semi-finals instead. Not sure how I feel about that, will be a great match no doubt. Just not sure why they got placed like that.
  5. Not a Friday match-up, but what do you think the chances of Egli and Konrath meeting in the finals again are?
  6. I was just inquiring, considering I don't have a son.
  7. And it was just an honest question. No need to be rude.
  8. Well this is only my 9th post. so that, plus the fact is says "Rookie" by my username, one can assume that I am new to the messageboard. What they classify as a rookie. So good job, you can read.
  9. Does anybody know what time the brackets are going to be posted?
  10. I definitely didn't see this coming at all! From what I've seen previously I really thought it should have worked out this way. 132 has been crazy all year long though, and you are absolutely correct. A terrific day of wrestling. I look forward to much of the same next weekend. Tough to see some great guys' careers come to an end one week short of the State Finals.
  11. Here are my final locks for the 2014 Evansville Semi-State 106- Paul Konrath (my state champ) Will Egli Logan Dilbeck Kadin Poe 113- Tyler Ferguson (my state champ) DJ Smith Austin Ely David Lewis 120- Bailey Lahue Brock Hudkins Alex Johnson Griffin Schermer 126- Nick Lee (my state champ) Nathan Schitter Chayce Young Joseph Deleon 132- Cory Orndorff (de-throwning Broukal in their 3rd consecutive match-up Devin Broukal Blake Jourdan Kyle Todrank 138- Skyler Lykins Tyler Fleener Wyatt Seng Ross Abram 145- Josh Pierre Zach Batts Bailey Schober Burk Van Horn 152- Brendon Kelley (my state champ) Phoenix Adams Seth Ferguson Andrew Jones 160- Isaiah Kemper Brendon Helm Jordan Partee Gabe Koontz 170- Jake Rickenbaugh Dylan Lydy Jacob Stevenson Turner Lockyear 182- Damien Chambers (my state champ) Michael Petrole Evan Elmore Andy Fischer 195- Dakota Thacker (my state champ) Blake Brown Mitchell Sandlin Randy Scott 220- Connor Tolley La Terrance Kyles Colton Castetter Gunnar Larson 285- Gus Dajani Norman Oglesby Gavin Jolley-Little Guy Henson A few picks that are contradictory to most guys, but I'm confident with all of these guys and know from what I've seen that these can all work out. Looking forward to a great day at the Ford Center, and feel free to post your opinion on these picks.
  12. So I can assume the same will happen with Lee and Davis. Granted, Lee will still win impressively in my opinion. Still no comment on the outcome of a Micic-Lee match up yet. Although, I can easily go as far as to say that I can see Orndorff and Broukal facing off for a 3rd week in a row in the Semi-State Championship match. In that case I take Orndorff by 2. In any case it will be interesting to see how it all plays out and I look forward a great final 2 weeks of wrestling.
  13. Inputs on the most likely State Championship match at 145 with Cody Lecount and Tommy Forte?
  14. Orndorff beats Davis in a close 2-3 point match and beats Ward to advance to State in my opinion. I see him finishing 2nd or 3rd.
  15. Even so, Lee beat Davis already with flying colors. Whereas Micic beat him 3-2. I don't see Lee having a problem if he faces Davis again. Looking forward to great matchup in 2 weeks. Hard to tell who will come out on top at this point.
